    Pros

Good Benefits, good pay, nice facility, and lots of services

    Cons

Huge work load often having to work through breaks and lunch to meet management expectations and if u do take break criticism is received for not finishing work. Manual systems for specimen entry and tons of poor software and switching back and forth between screens. Tons of injuries due to the excessive amount of work that must be completed same day. No room for promotions. Expected work load varies for high achievers often ridiculously high while others not held to same standard. Better to be a low achiever here and slowly increase skill over time. Very, Very political, push people too much so upper management can get their 1000+ bonuses...SAT bonus Star bucks gift card for $10.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people, give credit where credit is due don't take ideas others give you as your own, ACTUALLY do something about the software not adapt the crappy software your already using..find or design/write one that works. Provide promotion opportunities

    Pros

Excellent science and infrastructure to support initial product in BCa. Some very talented people throughout the organization make personal interactions enjoyable.

    Cons

Poor leadership in the commercial team primarily on the breast team and at senior levels. Territorial and political at this point, original culture of collaboration and what's best for the organization has disappeared.

    Advice to Management

Seriously consider why so many senior and high-performing employees have left and take immediate action or risk losing control of the commercial organization.

    Pros

The company has a product that truly impacts patients' lives for the better. Employees are smart, dedicated and believe in the company mission. Benefits are great. There's a healthy work-life balance.

    Cons

401k match needs improving. Cafeteria catering is really bad. There is poor modeling on the part of some managers when it comes to demonstrating the company's values we hear about in trainings.

    Advice to Management

Always speak to your direct reports like you want your supervisor to speak to you. Improve the 401k match. Do something to improve the on-site lunch choices.

    Pros

Breast Cancer product truly impacts patient lives Company is patient focused

    Cons

. . . way more than just the cafeteria (though it is awful) Pretty clearly the company is posting positive reviews in reply to each negative review -, just notice the similarities. The politics and mood are toxic

    Advice to Management

Not clear it is fixable at this point but don't focus on the cafeteria and the 401(k), that is moving deck chairs on the Titanic

Nepotism and favoritism plays into bonuses. If you can play the game it will pay off... Apparently I'm not the best player.

    Pros

People are friendly; you are working for a company that makes a difference in people's lives; you feel that the company is making an effort to improve the culture.

    Cons

Serious operational inefficiencies especially in the finance and accounting department. The other reviews about the IT infrastructure is also true. There isn't a week go by without experiencing a couple of IT related frustrations.

    Advice to Management

Invest in making operations more efficient instead of throwing heads to solve the problem. Don't just say "it takes time" when you don't want to bother with it because it does not affect you therefore it is not your priority. When people leave, don't excuse yourself and say their skillset is not at par. Ask yourself if your management style has something to do with it.

    Pros

I've been at Genomic Health for a few years and have seen the ups and downs. I've continue to have more good experiences than the downs. They have a good company culture that makes you feel inclusive. Collaboration is key here so working in a team environment will be a must. They have great products helping those with cancer which gives me a sense of fulfillment. The Happy Hours, bring your kids to work day, celebrating diversity is also good to be part of. It's also an environment where you work closely with key leaders who can make quick and sensible decisions.

    Cons

401K can use some focus. Additionally, bringing more perks such as those provided by our neighbors, Facebook and Google.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing; continue bringing patient ambassadors as it truly inspires us to put a face to those our work is impacting

    Pros

    - More information for breast and colon cancer patients. - Gummy bears.

    Cons

    - Poor leadership and no strategy. Only a few people ever made money, and they cashed out a long time ago. - Best talent has left and now just a revolving door of "c" level consultants. - No patient focus. - Politics and petty intrigue take the place of skills and values. Incompetence is epidemic.

    Advice to Management

Replace dead wood management before company implodes.
