I worked at Genpact full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learning Google AdWords, Analytics, Merchant Center, Google My Business, etc was a great experience. I met a lot of great co-workers and made a lot of fun memories.

    Cons

I gained a lot of weight from unhealthy snacks lol.. The sales goals became unattainable. Gift cards became obsolete. We became just a number. Poor leads with extremely high goals. No commission if you don't hit minimum goal and only get paid $12 hourly or whatever you are set at based on tenure. High stress of quality assurance goals. Goals go up every quarter with the same amount of low quality leads in your book.

    Advice to Management

Stop reading your employees like they are replaceable. It's a lot of money to train new employees and you keep losing your top reps by raising the goals to a unattainable amount. We will not work for free.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Genpact as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Professional group of people, great technology available and resources. Nice facilities. If you get a permanent job there, it probably pays well and has decent benefits and it is relaxed in its dress-code and environment.

    Cons

The only "value-add" that GenPact brings is the arbitrage of finding people in India who can do the work for 20% of the cost of doing in the U.S. It isn't so much that the job is being done better so much as everything that can be outsourced gets shipped overseas. The place pays lip-service to valuing the people it has working for it when they can figure out how to ship your job overseas. Also, most of the Indian managers I interacted with couldn't be bothered to know my name or what I did or have any personality. Of course, there are American managers like that, too, but this seemed more common.

    Advice to Management

Make hay while the sun shines. If indian cost of living ever matched U.S., I don't think GenPact would have much in the way of competitive advantage over some other consulting firm.

    Pros

Employees are nice, free snacks, good hours, no weekends

    Cons

Very boring work dealing with Adwords, Call Center environment, Company is relocating to Farmington Hills from Ann Arbor

    Advice to Management

Training needs to incorporate recordings of actual calls as well as actual screen shots of those calls BEFORE we even get out on the floor.

I have been working at Genpact (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great training, benefits, management and staff! I have worked here for six months, and I have already changed processes. It is possible to move between processes! On the sales team there is great flexibility and high earning potential. I made high commission after only two months. The management team treat employees with respect and make time for any questions. There is some flexibility to the hours, but not on days worked. It is a genuinely valuable process to learn. There are great opportunities to boost your resume and to learn.

    Cons

Because of the demands of the client, sometimes poor candidates are hired to meet quotas. This has less of an affect on the Sales team, but can be a distraction and a little demoralizing. As a vendor we sign a confidentiality agreement that does not allow us to tell prospective employers what we do.

    Advice to Management

Do not allow people who do not excel in training to reach the floor! Other than that, I am very satisfied with the way that I have been treated. I feel respected, valued and fulfilled (for now).
