    Pros

Talented and friendly group of people. Fun projects. Great environment. Lots of support and opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Extroverts are favored over introverts. Salaries seem skewed. Long hours and tight deadlines.

I have been working at Gensler full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Gensler has an open and collaborative atmosphere and the best benefits around for an architecture/interiors firm (that I've heard of.) They really concentrate on developing each individual person and hire great talents. Definitely recommended.

    Cons

I honestly cannot think of cons. You get what you put in with this job, as it should be.

    Pros

Gensler is a great teaching institution - if you have something you want to learn and be mentored for, you can do it here. Upper management is extremely interested in investing time toward employees and growing the younger generation and thier careers

    Cons

There's not a ton of growth potential unless you want to go the project management route...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lose the culture of Gensler, it's too important to who we are and the things we do!

I have been working at Gensler full-time

    Pros

On the corporate side, we're completely slammed everyday as we try to keep up with the growth of the Firm and provide the best support to the design side as possible. It's exciting and gratifying to be a part of such a process - we're never bored! There's tremendous room for growth for those who are eager to step up to the plate.

    Cons

Requests for work come at all hours of the day as we continue to meet needs from across the world, personally this isn't an issue, but some might not feel as compelled to accommodate by staying late & coming in early.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Our benefits are amazing and pay is fair - the one 'benefit' that could use improvement is numbers of days off. The standard 14 days could be improved.

    Pros

The expected hours were very reasonable, and the compensation for work put in were very fair. The benefits were fantastic, and they knew how to treat their employees. Honestly, a model for the way an Architecture firm should be ran.

    Cons

I did not have anything bad to say when I left.

I have been working at Gensler full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The corporate culture makes Gensler highly unique from other design firms. There's this thing called "pursuit of passion" where employees are encouraged to do what they love to do. I've never been told "no" and have built a successful career here with opportunities to morph, evolve, grow, and change over time. The firm promotes building internal relationships across the globe. Some of my best friends work at Gensler!

    Cons

This is a large firm. The positive is that there are resources for every need. The negative is that there is corporate bureaucracy. Sometimes change can take a very long time to happen. Some of the top level senior leadership can get too into the weeds. They need to trust and let go of more than they do.
