    Pros

Great atmosphere. Reputable company. Amazing projects. Smart people. Good pay. A decent handful of stylish and attractive people.

    Cons

People enjoy being friends with each other, joking, and having fun during office hours which can be a little distracting. Yep, that's my only complaint and it's actually a good problem.

    Advice to Management

Laugh when someone plays an awesome April Fool's Day joke on you.

    Pros

A giant company with many different projects, especially for interior design.
Focused on client service and design research.
Many office events, with a strong desire to support a sociable culture.
Strong marketing and public relations groups, aggressive about promoting Gensler.
    Respect for a work-life balance.

    Cons

Most projects are formulaic in design, with a tendency towards "corporate luxury". Design follows fashion, tends to be of the moment, and does not withstand time. Some poorly designed projects.
Low social and community engagement in the work.
Roles within firm are compartmentalized, which can create a disjointed rather than integrated projects.
Tendency towards group-think, it's not a place where diverse viewpoints are encouraged. Inwardly focused firm.
    Strongly hierarchical and political.

    Advice to Management

Need to connect more with projects, rather than manage fees and staffing. Improve integration and communication within staff. There's too much division of labor, and projects suffer.

    Pros

Great clients and staff is some of the best I've worked with--super nice people (mostly)

    Cons

Promotion is arbitrary, environment is political and not a meritocracy; leadership has "favorites" and doesn't generally invest in its people. Some people are truly mean and manipulative and management doesn't seem to notice or care.

    Advice to Management

Walk the talk. Rhetoric is inspiring but the actual working environment is not.
