    Pros

I enjoyed working with my patients and the flexibility of scheduling my day to see them. I also enjoyed working with my coworkers

    Cons

They need better healthcare benefits for their employees and they need to provide a benefits package to all employees that work full time hours instead of hiring PRN to work full time hours.

    Advice to Management

    As above.

  2. good company to work for, but not much opportunity for advancement

    Pros

I enjoyed the people that I worked with directly, (in the office)

    Cons

Upper management did not seem concerned about branch employees. Not many perks on the job, did not feel really appreciated for the work provided as field employees and managers. Little or no raises, and never any bonuses or incentives given.

    Advice to Management

Ask the opinion of employees when implementing major changes, and reward employees for work well done.

    Pros

The office staff and clinical managers thought they were actually doing a good service to patients and families. The physicians were awesome The schedule was great. The other nurses and support staff for the location was great!

    Cons

Corporate office is a joke! They couldn't write a policy if it was already published for them. Look out if you are hired as as an hourly paid person, they may just start paying you salary one day without notification and you will be surprised at your hourly rate. I went from a competitive hourly rate to a joke of a salary. I am an RN with many years experience I will not be paid as a tech. The corporate office could not figure out mileage and pay. My suggestion is to call the health insurance at least once per month just to make sure you still are covered. It's great to be sick and told by the office staff you do not have health insurance.

    Advice to Management

Corporate office folks if you don't know what you are doing then do not go messing with folks that do. I feel a lawsuit in your future figure out what the heck you are doing and do it, don't change the game every day you are going to get in ALOT of trouble. Don't lie it will bite you on the behind. Remember Karma is a funny character.

Never enough employees to do all the work that needs to be done in a day.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring upper management and hire more employees for work in the office of the branch.

    Pros

It's a job, that's the best I can offer. Too much turnover and lousy benefits, emphasis on sales

    Cons

Sales driven, business model hospice with incredible turnover and sloppy performance. Nobody knows what they are doing because the turnover so high. worked 4 yrs abd saw 3 name changes from buyouts

    Advice to Management

Know what you are doing. patients and employees should not be treated like problems

I worked at Gentiva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Drive like a cross country trucker

    Cons

    1. Poor mileage reimbursement and even though you document mileage on the record, they use a google map to calculate mileage, so you may not be paid your actual mileage driven. 2. Not paid appropriately for visits rendered. Pressure to treat more than 1 visit. As a PT, one visit is reimbursable. Many times I would complete a start of care with treatment for 1 visit and would only be paid half. Getting ready to report to employment office regarding this lack of pay for work done. 3. Expected to follow up with MD phone calls, document on visits that you do not actually make, thus working for nothing for this extra work. 4. After being a clinician over 30 years, and many years on home health, pressure to adjust OASIS questions to at opening, the patient looks worse so at discharge the progress looks inflated. 5. About half of my paychecks were inaccurate and when I would provide the documentation to correct, it was like pulling teeth and I was accused of being "money hungry", even though I was correct. 6. Pressured to leave when I refused to inflate my OASIS questions or over treat the patient.
