    Pros

Had a good culture. Very patient focused, great coworkers. Had a small company feel to it. Was an overall great place to work

    Cons

Was difficult to implement changes. Communication between departments was not always great. Limited career opportunities. IT infrastructure was old and outdated. Was acquired and seemed to be losing some of the things that made it a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose the things that made this a great place to work. Communicate with your employees and spend more money on IT.

    Pros

One of the best places I have ever worked. Wish they were still around.

    Cons

No real cons. Great insurance, descent pay, great people.

    Advice to Management

I miss you all. The management here really cared about their employees.

    Pros

I always loved this company. Good benefits, paid vacation, sick , 401(k), good employees, hard workers.

    Cons

Very little room for advancement, micromanagement, its who you know not what you know.

    Advice to Management

Let people with ideas help change what could help processes. Better work-life balance. Overtime always a problem. The same people always doing it and the same people always complaining why they cant. Manangement never rewards people who ACTUALLY do the work. Just the ones with titles regardless of what they do.

    Pros

Genzyme Genetics was a wonderful company as a whole.

    Cons

The senior techs that worked at Genzyme Orange, CA, especially the older women, are morons with HUGE egos! I worked with some that acted like they knew everything and made big mistakes to the point of miss analyzing cases and led to failures in the lab. Genzyme Orange techs are definitely NOT as well trained as techs that came from some other Genzyme locations! Just because someone has 20 years experience in the field, does NOT mean that they are competent; hiring managers tend to make that mistake.

    Advice to Management

Just because someone has many years experience, really test their knowledge before hiring or closely observe and note how many mistakes they make and if their egos are getting in the way of a harmonious working environment. Older women (45+) usually have mental issues!

    Pros

Many of my coworkers are really great people. I like the work that I perform and the challenges it brings to provide patients with their results.

    Cons

very little concern with patient care and quality. No flexibility with schedules or personal needs. You have to be very fake and kiss up to advance.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees, they aren't there just to be problems to squash. Try not to talk to us like we are indigent children.
