    Pros

The most talented and experienced trench folks. All ex-IBMers prior to joining Geodis (unwillingly) and know the service parts logistics including reverse logistics like no other.

    Cons

Management also are ex iBMers and have zero backbone. Sales force brought in NO new work in 4 years. Pathetic is an under statement. IBM says cut costs and they simply lay-off those not in the club just like they did when they were managing in IBM.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Obtain a real sales force, grow a backbone to IBM and disassemble the "protected club". 4PL is soon to mean 4 people. SMART program is a bigger loser than PBC's ever was.

I have been working at Geodis

    Pros

Not a single positive item to state. A sorry state

    Cons

Looks like most of the reviews are very accurate, not much to add. The most negative experience of your lifetime. Management definitely has unethical practices , an abundance of leaders with no integrity. You can't hope but fail, even if you bring success, no recognizing contributions, hard work, or putting up and living permitting management behave with no integrity. Being in Operations is a joke, poor existance and the sales people are even in a worse position and leave. It is true the company is not competitive, knowledgable, creative, very poor teams, processes, IT or any care for people and definitely not customers. Very disrespectful... Gotta get out

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's over, terrible leaders, no understanding of market customers or support to be successful. You will loose the IBZm business, which you are unsuccessful with, combative relationships, IBM will make a change,,, can't and won't bring new customers in,,, it's well known you have lost 100s of Millions of dollars lost customers and bids. Sell off the business, withdraw from IBM while you still have a play.. It's over has been for many years as we have all watched it go down

    Cons

There is no professionalism, bad company, Have seen many bad actions by managers and management. Deceitful to everyone. Liars, no integrity, not any justificying, no respect for employee and more not for customers either reckless and systems process very poor,, not at all competitive and no careers for anyone,,,, agree don't go to work for them at all

    Pros

Nothing, but at least you know where you are

    Cons

Everything and all their roofs only leaks when it rains

Absent Leadership + Unethical you've been WARNED except for the old IBM
people,, what a pity they're in this mess and organisation now

A slaughter ground if you're a professional, check your experience and drive at
the door,,, they foster failure, prey on and hope the find unintelligent
customers, it's all a experiment, worst position to do is sales everyone agrees,
you will not and can never have success, leave you out to dry and employees and customers are expendable. Company only strategy is called hope and just glad to be
invited to anything and widely accept finishing last always. Totally uncompetitive and out classed by any of the top 100 logistics companies
Business groupe's in real trouble: Groupge LtL in EU, is a disaster.
Optimisation groupe is only one customer IBM a real problem that they paid the right to but didn't get any systems and they don't have any systems for new customers except
if you want some in french that are whit escreens which are before green
screens, and can't implement My god , and rates are not competitive at all and ancient IT systems

Co totally disorganized and beyond belief slow at everything..except politics
and communicate on nothing,,, your phone will never ring
Competition has nothing to worry about and it's quite better if Geodis is
competing, the best competitors clearly stand out then

Only thing for certain is you can expect zero support from mgmt, and know
response to your inquiries, and we are talking none zip nothing , believe it,
honestly, even with lost & new customers

    I worked at Geodis

    Pros

Friendly people environment with lots of domestic and international interactions. Management is very helpful and approachable. Company environment is informal and you can advance if you are worth it.

    Cons

Many departments are managed from remote locations and that makes decision making at times very ineffective. Decisions are very slow in nature.

Former Employee - Operations Manager in Auckland (New Zealand)

I worked at Geodis full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Employees from ground up to supervisory level experienced, hardworking and delightful to work with.
Salary and wage range sits between average and slightly above.

    Cons

Expectation of extended hours and weekend work. Work first, family second.
Senior management lacks direction, focus, and is (for the most part) dysfunctional.
MD lacks ethical values, integrity and has actively managed (paid) former managers to exit the business to cover his failed unethical commercial ventures.
Lack of support from senior management - focus appears to be only on financial wellbeing at the cost of training, systems development, maintenance and health and safety of employee's.
Inexperienced managers that lack knowledge and understanding of the industry.
Blame culture promoted by senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honesty, integrity and an inclusive management style may benefit, but that may be out of reach for the current MD and management team.

I have been working at Geodis full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Some talented colleagues from IBM days (whoever of those remain at Geodis as the good ones will always leave and the bad ones will ultimately stay)

    Cons

    - Same old regime from IBM to try and "Lead". Most managers have been IBM blue blood lifers (20+ years) with no real outside industry experience. Moving from IBM to becoming a service provider whose core competency is logistics is an entirely new ballgame.
    - Being lead and managed by people who aren't true supply chain people coupled with trying to forge a new business/corporate identity in a new geography = recipe for disaster.
    - Management too busy looking after themselves and catering to French HQ bosses
    - French bosses have little to no idea what actually happens asides from whatever management is telling them (see above point)
    - Disengaged employees as leaders talk from both sides of their mouths
    - Can't transition or forge an identity (AKA cutting the IBM umbilical cord) when after 4 years the "new" Geodis employees still use their old IBM email addresses
    - No support from Management and career advancement is next to zero
    - Employees back stab one another in order to climb this mythical ladder that "leaders" purposefully try and misrepresent. It just isn't there.
    - Cost constraints abound as 4PL scrambles to make any money. Only so long a business can survive with only one client.
    - No true identity...what is the culture at Geodis Supply Chain Optimisation or coporate values?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Geodis were serious about forging a new 4PL identity outside of Europe or even within Europe, it would start at the top. Replace the old IBM regime of management with younger visionaries that care or want to try and make a difference. The stagnant ship full of old ideologies and members of the old boys club needs to go. These so called management leaders are there only to pad their wallets and don't really care about anyone else but themselves. IF there's ever a business case study to examine employee morale, disengagement and lack of support or even failure of a corporate acquisition then look at Geodis SCO.
