    Pros

Nowhere near the layoff threats I've dealt with in the private sector. Very stable in that sense. Many genuinely nice, good and talented people across campus. Nice to work with a company/firm that isn't just about greed like so many private firms. Feels good to do work for a school, reminds me of working for non-profits. Less pressure, great benefits, retirement etc. No grief when you take time off. Attractive work environment, many lunch options on campus.

    Cons

My only complaint about the school is one they're imminently aware of... each school and college operates as its own little fiefdom and they listen little to anyone and think it's all about them vs. the school itself. Short-sighted in that sense.

    Advice to Management

Continue working on bringing the schools and colleges together for the common good, keep employees in their "lane." Do what YOU do, let others do what THEY do and the school will continue to flourish.

    Pros

Small department so close interactions with profs

    Cons

Horribly disorganized, bad pay, bad benefits, bad work spaces, computing systems frequently down, too many administrators

    Advice to Management

Hire more professors and cut loose some of the useless administrators. Needs a complete reorganization of the U.
