    Pros

    Acquired leave time for paid vacation and sick leave. State retirement plan. Fairly easy job if you have the correct mindset.

    Cons

    Can be very stressful. You have to work long hours with the same amount of pay because you are on salary pay not paid by the hour.

    Advice to Management

    Do not micromanage the employee's. Understand that the employee's have a home life and do not want to be treated like they are just chess pawns.

    If you want to work in the security field, it's always there waiting on you.

    Cons

    This is a 12 hour shift.

    Advice to Management

    After there for a while you can always try to become a supervisor.

    Pros

    Paid time off and decent insurance.

    Cons

    Revolving door system for offenders. No interest in rehabilitating them on DOC's part. Poor pay, even with years of prior experience. Extremely high turnover due to poor management and job demands.

    Treat all offenders and employees with dignity and RESPECT.

    Pros

    benefits were decent, underpaid for the amount of work they demanded, Poor company values

    Cons

    Choices selecting health care was very poor, promotions slim to none, no training perks, that was only for the high ranking.

    Advice to Management

    Listen and act on your advise that is given by the field officers and stop believing the Chiefs (Atlanta)

    Depends on which prison you work at. Good friendships. Room for promotion.

    Cons

    Pay could be better. Some real attitudey co-workers.

    benefits was good, the work wasnt hard

    Cons

    sterotyped.....people got use to the location and situation and didnt want no new comers

    treat all as a equal, remeber your part and be a true manager, not just where it fits to benefit you
