It was a good place to work. I was promoted 4 times during my tenure. I appreciated the opportunity working there.

Former Employee - Revenue Agent I in Atlanta, GA

I worked at Georgia Department of Revenue full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The pro's would include exposure to internal workings of Governmental operations, resume builder, experience, tax exposure, learning from other's mistakes, general accounting knowledge and other accounting knowledge that can assist an accountant in their careers outside of Revenue.

    Cons

High levels of favoritism, racial tensions, non meritorious promotions, over worked and underpaid, inability to be able to conduct any real palpable changes to workloads or collections. Not a place to work for a lifetime unless you are able to adjust to conditions that do not lend to a somewhat non professional environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your act together and stop promoting people without having adequate credentials. Many of the people that were in positions of power were very abusive and maintained a closed door attitude about gripes and complaints - not exactly an endearing approach to get the best from your employees.
