    Pros

It can be a pretty laid back environment at time. Nice people to work with. Company cares a lot about safety and looks out for it's employees. MBM culture is great for promoting long term growth.

    Cons

Pay is usually a little lower than in other industries possibly because of profit margins. This makes it harder to retain talented individuals.

    Pros

Field personnel have great support within the GP infrastructure, Salesforce Effectiveness Team tries to be cutting edge and innovative.

    Cons

They have guiding principles call MBM. It is theoretical and practiced. Many people refer to it when it is convenient but they do not by any means live by it. The field management is weak. They do not know how to lead people just manage processes.
    They do not provide raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Field management is focused on processes resulting in low levels of motivation within the culture. Field managers are not focused on development of people just draining people. Additionally, your annual sales meeting is awesome but there is not real recognition throughout the year. People are really demotivated and field leadership is clueless. You need to have talent development and leadership development programs.

    Pros

Looks good on resume. Plenty of opportunities to take on more challenges and get time in front of senior management. Company does a great job of training employees for the job.

    Cons

Pay not comparable to the amount of work and time you put in. Low base pay and standard increases in pay over time (not based on value created as told). Company uses incentive compensation to distract employees from realizing they have a low base salary. Very few women and minorities in upper management and they aren't compensated as well if they are in the positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't tap other employees for desirable promotions just because they are well known. Allow others to have a real chance at applying since these are likely the employees that are actually doing the most work. Don't force people to move to undesirable locations just to have a shot at moving up in the company later on if they are good talent.

    Pros

They company pays relatively well compared to others in similar type position. Some positions allow you to work from home on occasion.

    Cons

Very much favoritism based company, political comments in many meetings and presentations, the company owns its own staffing company called Encadria thats sole purpose is to hire people for Georgia Pacific which allows them hire employees that get paid poorly and don't get benefits but do a lot of the same work as others. Processing for the organization are repudiative and cumbersome. They throw their MBM guiding principals down your throat but don't follow them by any means. The company wastes money in so many ways yet can't make decent improvements to things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop shove your political opinions down our throats, make smarter choices, hire your dedicated people whom you lead on via your own temp agency and have better training of management.

    Pros

Ability to move around to different departments and positions.
MBM philosophy is good when actually practiced.
Quality performance reviews every six months with specific goals.

    Cons

Promises for raises and promotions are not kept.
Added responsibilities and duties without raise or title.
    High turnaround in management.
MBM philosophy is not followed, is actually seen as a hindrance by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep promises to employees for raises and spot bonuses.
Review if MBM philosophy is being followed in different facilities.

    Pros

GP is has a great company culture. They work hard to welcome challenges and become more transparent. I genuinely believe the majority of people at this organization try to do the right thing.

    Cons

There still exists a subtle hierarchy and you better fight to get rightfully compensated. They tout that you're compensated for the "value" you create, but if people actually saw that they wouldn't have some much bloat on their office floors. Truth is that GP is an old school company struggling to adjust and retain top talent, especially the young guns.
