I worked at Georgia-Pacific Corporation full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The best thing about GP are your coworkers. People on the whole are friendly. I'm afraid I do not have much to say which is nice about GP.

    Cons

Little to no communication with managers. When issues arise upper managers put their heads in the sand. Little to no recognition of a job well done. Raises and bonuses are non-existent with the attitude towards employees is there is the door, do not let it hit you as you go out of it. Little to no training opportunities. Favoritism is rampant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I already tried and they did not want to listen.

    Pros

Overall good company to work for with many different paths and challenging opportunities. The change and challenge process is great for growth

    Cons

Compensation is a bit lower than it should be

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    No issues

  3. When problems are escalated to HR, information is shared with the offending managers and they retaliate against the employees.

    Pros

    Size, priviate company, management philosophy.

    Cons

Communication, collaboration, the size gets in the way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The belief that there this is a flat organization is slightly twisted. Decision marketing and execution, even after the right mental models have been followed is painful.

    Pros

Steady work. Good boss, great coworkers, not overly stress full

    Cons

Slow on innovation. Lot of dinosaurs calling the shots. Very risk averse. Not everyone has bought into the core values.

    I worked at Georgia-Pacific Corporation full-time

    Pros

Good company, benefits, culture, work environment

    Cons

Management at headquarters leaves something to be desired. If you are not with the "in" crowd, you will be invisible and you will not grow and prosper. There's a lot of favoritism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
