Advice to Senior Management
Offer more of a raise during yearly reviews instead of a tiny two percent raise.
Establish guidelines and requirements to help people in the company climb the corporate ladder.
Pros
decent amount of vacation. 2 weeks at start, additional week every 5 yrs.
Cons
they don't care how much of your private life they intrude into. service and sales territories are too large. 60 plus hours per week is normal. Compensation package for sales is changed every year. Some years the package isn't announced until after the year has started. Some of the sales trps had their copensation packeages changed in the middke of the year one year. Service isn't always performed in timely manner on contract service.
Advice to Senior Management
make auto reimbursment for former runzheimer recipients right. Compensate them fairly for their vehicles.
Pros
great and deicated employees from the middle management down.
Cons
expect, expect, expect push, push, push, Margin, margin, margin
Its quite apparent the current direction is cost reduction with increased margins, and continue to stress the workforce.
Moral at corporate office is quite noticably low and continueing in that direction.
Advice to Senior Management
human resource is the most important, not the CEO adding another line in his resume for when he leaves in 18 months.
Pros
Good products.
Extremely knowledgable sales reps.
Cons
Horrible Management.
Poor communication.
Poor product development line.
Poor response to product design flaws.
No Corporate Support.
Advice to Senior Management
Quit!! From the top down to Regional Managers.
Pros
Somewhat flexible work schedule. Work independently if you are in the field. This used to be a much better place to work, I've been here almost a decade and it is going down hill fast!
Cons
This a company that has taken a turn for the worse. The have implemented a number of "cost saving" efforts that have taken money out of the pockets of their employees. This used to be a great place to work and it has fallen apart with the new leadership. So sad, the fastest way to ruin a company is to treat the employees poorly which is fact what Getinge is doing. They know that right now jobs are hard to come by so they are definitely taking advantage of that fact and sticking it to the people who are the face of Getinge which is a huge mistake! A good company gone bad.
Advice to Senior Management
If you take money out of your employees pocket the talented people will leave as soon as the opportunity comes. Don't take money from your employees without then compensating them for it, just awful.
Pros
Flexibility of schedule and lots of very good training.
Cons
When changes are made very little communication and you are not given good clear choices when they are presented to you.
Advice to Senior Management
Must do better of communicating clearly choices given to reps.
Pros
Independence - territories are run like mini-businesses. I have a high level of control over how I run my territory and as long as I make my numbers and keep my costs down my boss doesn't bother me.
Work/Life Balance - An extra weeks vacation for every five years with the company, time off when needed for emergencies, nice perks at meetings and get-togethers.
Great co-workers - I respect every one of my colleagues and feel I can learn from each of them.
Cons
Driving - a lot. Less than helpful support staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Bring Rochester support staff in line with the company's goals. We're in the field trying to make the company money, and it often seems that the support staff are hindering that effort.
Pros
For the most part you have a flexible work schedule, there are of course times as with any job that you will have unexpected things come up and you are working late. The future direction of the company is very promising and the new leadership seem to have a clear idea of where they want to take the company and how to get there.
Cons
Compensation and benefits package could be better. The medical benefits are very expensive and you wind up paying a large chunk of money out of pocket anyway if something does happen medically, not very good at all. Salary is weak for the area of the country I am in, and pay raises when you do perform don't even keep up with inflation.
Advice to Senior Management
Communication is paramount, let the employees know where the company is headed and give the a sense of direction. If an employee does perform well in the course of a year please compensate them appropriately.
Pros
Working with other caring individuals in the Service field who do so much with barely any support from Senior Management in Rochester NY.
Cons
Pay increases are tiny. No cost of living increases. The " Mid Point " for your position is actually your maximum amount you will earn in said position. Senior Management don't listen to their subordinates. Suggestions are totally ignored. Meetings only seem to be focused on the numbers. The needs of the employees are never addressed. The Service Representatives who are in front of the customer every day can't even get a Getinge pen or Coffee mug to give to their customers despite repeated requests at meetings.
Advice to Senior Management
Reward the people who bring the money to the company. The Service Representatives. Listen to your Service Representatives at meetings. They are in front of the customer on a daily basis and can provide the crucial information that can lead to success.
