    Pros

The pay is competitive with frequent (twice per year) raises based on performance and there's room for advancement in the company - the company hires internally first for management/corporate jobs. The POS technology was recently upgraded (which should have been implemented at all locations by now) which is easier to learn - slightly less stable though.

    Cons

Not a whole lot of vacation time (1 week at the two year mark)
Labor cuts can get a bit stressful. When you're full time you still get your 40 hours but when you're the lead of a major department having your workforce get cut is not fun.
Management can sometimes be difficult to get a hold of (they're busy too but free some time up)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Calm down with the hour cuts. I understand it's intended to boost profits but you're making customers not want to come back when there's lines in the middle of a weekday.
(Corporate advice: Get with your technology department and please, update the Bonuscard Manager. That application is garbage)

    Pros

Base pay is pretty nice with regular interval raises. Management goes above and beyond to keep customers happy, even ordering things in for specific customers.

    Cons

Cutting hours for some and adding for others using the excuse that it is a payroll freeze. Managers are not very good at listening to the employees to fix what is not working. Expecting employees to work in more than one place at the same time without any help or time to take the supposedly required breaks.

    Cons

bad work enviroment, rude managment/emploees/customer, and everyone is missarable. doing full time work under part time.

    Pros

If you want to really make a career at Giant, they are willing to move you up slowly. Get an employee discount.

    Cons

They don't pay very well. Feel like they don't really care about employees that much. Try to overwork you. Most likely have to work part time because they won't hire you for full time (I think it is because they don't want to have to give you benefits).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give a more fair pay and don't try to bundle up people's job descriptions.

Former Employee - Software Developer, Front-End Associate

    Pros

If you're a front end associate (what I did before moving to software) you have a pretty easy job and for the most part the lower level bosses are actually rather nice even in stressful or high customer influx times. Although I didn't have a senior software designer for the managements' software goals they were surprisingly willing to listen and understand how much time programming goals can take, which is a first for me outside of the tech industry. Be nice to others, and (for the most part) they'll be nice to you.

    Cons

Didn't recieve much compensation for any extra hours for my project, but occaisionally I was asked to help out the front-end associates with bagging and customer service. That's normally fine, but that's not the job that I applied or was payed. The employees had a high turnover rate due to college kids and recent grads being employed as mid-level managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually give an employee discount! The whole "1 penny for every 1 dollar is our profit" is complete gib, and it'd be nice to actually have an incentive to shop at the place I work.
