    Pros

Steady work for the most part as they are all government contracts. They do go through expansions and contractions, however, they keep the best people for decades.
    Great benefits
Fair Salaries (more about this in the con)
    Steady leadership

Salaries are not amazing. But the work hours are not always tough, sometimes it's all hands on deck, but for the most part folks are out by 5pm.

    Pros

Gibbs & Cox has a good benefits package for full time employees. It seems like if you get hired on there is a work load looking out some way

    Cons

The cost of living in Washington DC is pretty high. This is not their fault but to live in the area of the main office a 2 bedroom apartment is 1000 minimum

    Pros

G&C is a great place to work. It has its ups and downs due to the high intensity deadlines set. You do have those weeks where you work 12 hours a day. However, you do get paid OT for your efforts. The company gives the employee many opportunities to get involved on several different types of projects which provides great experience for the employee.

    Cons

My only problem with the company is that I do not see many opportunities to move up the ladder. I have been working here for a few years now and have even put in requests to get involved in upper management but my requests seem to have just been disregarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I have no advice.

    Pros

Working on Ships is a gratifying experince from laying the keel to seeing her in mission status. Managers are helpful and willing to teach. There is opportunity to travel internationaly and domestically but it is not necesarily required. Buisness looks good for the next couple of years and new and more interesting projects seem to be matriculating. Bonuses every year are based on company performance.

    Cons

Smaller company not as much oportunity for growth. Salary growth is slow. Projects can be long and frustrating. There is no differentiation. Upper management can at times be a little dense. Trainging approval is difficult to acheive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to provide goals to lower employees to work towards. Ships take a long time to design and build and work can become monotonous at times but with some kind of reward such as promotion based on performance, these times can be mitigated.
