I have been working at Gillette Children's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was great building relationship with families that come in for their appointments on a regular basis.

    Cons

Nurses and therapists were not friendly. Poor management and unorganized.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to understand two sides of a story before reporting an employee regardless of position of employee

I have been working at Gillette Children's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gillette is truly dedicated to providing the best experience for our patients. From the maintenance staff up to the Therapists and Physicians- everyone seems to love what they do and enjoys being a part of this organization. Gillette compensates their employees well and there is room for advancement within. Working directly with the Physicians is truly a rewarding job to have.

    Cons

The scheduling department is a major downfall at Gillette for both patients and Gillette staff. The scheduling system is not working. The department overall has low morale, poor training/ operational documents, and in general poor management and attitude.

    Advice to Management

Gillette would greatly benefit implementing changes and reorganization with the scheduling department. However, the rest of the company seems to be doing great!

I have been working at Gillette Children's full-time

    Pros

All are mission driven to help children and adults with disabilities live a full meaningful life

    Cons

Lots of changes going on at the moment with new leadership but will all be good!

    Advice to Management

A little more transparancy and keeping a flat management structure would be better.

I have been working at Gillette Children's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The clientele and the staff. This is a specialized hospital for kids with disabilities. The people who work there are very caring, supportive, and helpful.

    Cons

Not many. As a person who is not a nurse and came from another hospital, I thought it was odd that a nurse was our department head/supervisor when the department is not nursing.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow and develop. I noticed that the management structure is changing and putting people in the department into manger/supervisory roles rather than someone who is not from that profession.

  8. Surrounded by amazing families and compasionate employees, every day filled me with pride and purpose!

    Pros

There is a great mission being carried out within the walls of the building. Highly trained people are helping families and children deal with conditions that, in some cases, no one has ever seen before. It is an honor to be a part of this group.

    Cons

Seeing what others are going through can tear at you emotionally. The pediatric intensive care unit is sometimes hard to be in, due to the children who are there. Overall, working there just makes it very hard to complain about the things in your life...

    Advice to Management

Keep communications going in both directions at all levels.

    Pros

    Gillette Children's Mission is awesome

    Cons

Medical Insurance isn't as good as I would have thought being in the healthcare industry

    Advice to Management

All Physicians should be required to attend 'social networking' classes. Most of the physicians do not know how to interact socially with other employees.
