    I worked at Glanbia Nutritionals

    Pros

The people that are employed are very hard working and dedicated employees. The company does a lot of extras for its employees such as lunches, and parking lot celebrations, Christmas party and in the past Summer picnics. All is appreciated by the employees as a reward for the high demands of the company.

    Cons

Due to the high demands and often times unrealistic expectations, these rewards mentioned in the "Pros"section above are seen as charity. There is a gap in understanding between the executive level and the senior management level. With the workloads of each group so heavy, it is difficult to bridge this gap to get the groups communicating together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow VP's the authority to run their area of responsibility. Allow the executives the time to coach and mentor the senior managers. Allow the executives to be more available for senior managers and work to fill the gap. All the above will help with the company morale which is at an all time low. This should be taken seriously and dealt with.

    Pros

Benefits are good. Pay is ok. There WAS at one time a great group of office and manufacturing personnel at Glanbia.

    Cons

The CEO and Director of Operations jumped ship early 2014 within weeks of one another. As of July 2014 neither have been replaced. There has been a mass exodus of long term employees due to the poor management decisions made at Glanbia. The few remaining long term employees are looking to get out. Managment is out of touch with the internal manufacturing processes and procedures. The work load is overwhelming in every department and is never acknowledged by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn the business process and get to know the employees!

    I worked at Glanbia Nutritionals

    Pros

This is a rapidly expanding sports nutritionals business which makes it somewhat recession proof. Management is accessibe and willing to listen to constructive suggestions. Great location. Benefits were very good when I was there. A high level of camaraderie was evident throughout the company. New business always brought something new and challenging.

    Cons

Little chance for advancement. Part of this may be due to the company sorting out where in the world they want to do certain things As this was an acquisition of a much smaller company, culture change from former owners was difficult for long term employees. Lots of complaints about how much work there was and why. Although management understood the needs created by expansion, there was little thay could do about it as Glanbia is a global company and other divisions weren't doing so well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the manager seems clueless as to what is going in the lab he or she probably is, not due to inability but rather being swamped with work of their own to bring the company up to international standards; ask the employee what is going on and what support is needed would answer any questions that may need answering.

This could be a much better company if they would care

I worked at Glanbia Nutritionals full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefit package and the "nobodies" were nice to work with.

    Cons

    Where to begin?
Poor, poor management! When you’re willing to jump when they say jump and always agreeing with the plant manager, you can go quite far in this company, even when you’re a drug addict or alcoholic. But as soon as you have an opinion or want to make a suggestion, you’re a nobody. Even when you have the education, knowledge and/or experience, you will not be able to grow when you’re not in the inner circle and don’t have your arm half way up the plant managers butt.
It was not for nothing that there was a coming and going of people, specially in production. When you’re treated as a nobody and they don’t care about your opinion and suggestions, even though it would save money, you burnout quick in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Now that they had the fire, when they going to rebuild they should kick out the plant manager and his inner circle, make the production manager the plant manager and listen to the employees, then maybe Glanbia Nutritional will finally start to make some money.
