Constant changes due to corporate integrity agreement and poor management decisions. Vulnerable due to impending patent expirations. Eliminated many roles in recent restructure.

    Pros

great benefits. Wonderful people to work with. Good portfolio of medications. A large corporation that has significant footprint in healthcare.

    Cons

patient first compensation program very cumbersome, and at times very difficult to manage. Became less nimble in marketplace due to multiple layers of decision makers

    Advice to Management

change format of patient first, decentralize management teams and allow DM's, RD's to have more choice on a local level

    Pros

Good benefits, nice office. Coworkers are knowledgable and you can have fun and learn a lot.

    Cons

They have found new ways not to pay out bonus. The forced ranking system is a total lie, and things like gender and race get thrown in the mix. They tout transparency and they are anything but. Used to be a place you were proud to be at, but anymore leadership and anyone able are jumping ship at an alarming rate of speed. The people go away, the work does not, and no one wants to make a decision, so those still left there are overwhelmed.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiding behind your values because you do not live them. Get the bonus structure of several years ago and stop making it fear based. Your PDP is way to much work just to get a rating that was predetermined anyway and in no way based on performance.

    Pros

Benefits, bonus, free GSK meds, flexible working environment, cafeteria, fitness center, coffee bar, off the week of Christmas, hardworking employees.

    Cons

Too many layoffs, way way too much change, open floor plan that isn't conducive to accomplishing anything..... lacks work/life balance. Years ago employees felt they were appreciated, now employees are just numbers. Was proud to say I worked at GSK.....no longer feel that way....

    Advice to Management

Too many people in upper management don't have a clue how to manage people.

    I worked at GlaxoSmithKline

    Pros

    The people are really kind.

    Cons

They have processes for process and too many people overlap their roles and responsibilities so it was difficult to figure out what your true responsibilities were.

    Pros

The work enviroment is still better than many other places, with fairly nice office spaces, salary and benefits. Current employee health insurance is top notch and there are many programs to aimed to keep employees energized.

    Cons

The business model conintures to undergo many changes which have lead to many rounds of layoffs. The work enviroment is very demanding and can require long working hours.

    Advice to Management

Additional energy should be spent on creating a more positive culture/enviroment through better organizations efficiency and limiting demands and expecatation to work evenings and weekends.
