I worked at Global Geophysical Services (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Global is a very friendly place to work. The benefits are great and the staff is helpful and willing to help out with anything you need

    Cons

You spend a lot of time away from your family

    Advice to Management

Get more backlog to keep the field crews busy

I worked at Global Geophysical Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Challenging, Quite exciting, great values.

    Cons

Carolan Laudon's management skills are the poorest I have seen so far in the industry. Would not recommend to join the unconventional consulting group.

    Advice to Management

Let go of Carrie and you will start making profit from your consulting team. Bill & Ross are quite respectable and well versed with their fundamentals.

I worked at Global Geophysical Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, good people, good company.

    Cons

Reorganization would suggest apparent payables issues.

    Advice to Management

Although it's common for the O&G industry to abuse it's suppliers with unnecessarily long pay terms, the suppliers should be paid in a timely fashion. Net 30 should be the standard, not Net 60 or net 90 with another 10-14 days before receipt of payment. Suppliers shouldn't have to prostitute their company to do business in the O&G industry.

I worked at Global Geophysical Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A short commute, excellent office infrastructure (including a cafeteria and workout facility), a boss whose support and mutual respect was tangible and friendly and experienced co-workers. I feel that this was a place where I would have enjoyed working for the rest of my career.

    Cons

I thought that the number of Vice Presidents per square inch was excessive, even for a corporate headquarters site, but I'm used to working for smaller companies.
