Google copy cat culture which is good for an Argentinian smaller company!

The Sales Management team definitely are not for the customer or the employees--all they care about is revenue

    Project Manager (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsThe Development and the Delivery team who work at Globant are really smart and intelligent people

Consthe management team and their practices are really unethical. that's all I need to say. They constantly put the sales guy under pressure to sale, and provide unrealistic quota; the development team are way over worked and under paid; they just stick around due to their visa status, and having the opportunity to leave Argentina.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmployees are the best assets in a company; learn how to treat your staff and increase employee retention.

Do not work for this Company!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsLet you work form home

ConsSalaries are very low. Benefits are pathetic. They do not have a clue how to recruit. They just bring you to the company to fill a hot spot then they laid you off. Managers do not know how to run a company in the USA They do not have a clue how to work with american (this is why the have more employees with VIsa). They do not have integrity!

    Great working there

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGlobant is a company with talented engineers. Although not super easy, the engineer can change teams and pursue different career paths.

ConsManagement still makes big decisions without involving the engineering teams.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on their talent.

    Gain experience then jump

Software Engineer In Test (Former Employee)
    Mountain View, CA

ProsOpportunity to work with companies such as Google, Electronic Arts, etc

ConsThey don't care about you or your development, they only care you are billing the clients.

My contract stated they were going to pay for half of my housing expenses and car rental, not even 6 months later they came with something else.

Not clear policy on holidays, event they say they are international company they were trying to apply argentinian rules on an us based company, for example in Argentina they count saturday and sunday as working days when requesting holidays (which to me does not make sense since saturday and sunday are not working days).

    Account Manager and Scrum Master

    Project Manager (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsI was never disappointed in any of my teams working for Globant. The people are bright, kindhearted, hardworking, and support each other very well. There is a fair amount of flexibility - you can often work from home and had my passport not been expired I could have swapped apartments with someone in Buenos Aires with the full support of management. People are smart and there's lots of opportunity to work for brand-name companies.

ConsGlobant has grown very fast and is having trouble getting things done - basically their Operations suck. Compared to Nextive (which they acquired), they are less profitable, less generous, have much greater difficulty obtaining needed materials, were not as well equipped (one office I worked with was unable to use our web-based collaborative tools because they were on dial-up speeds), and were just in general harder to work with. At Nextive, I enjoyed a high level of trust and communication between myself and my superiors. I felt they "had my back" (PMs at Globant are responsible for client satisfaction) and were available to offer advice and support. This vanished within months of the acquisition.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo something about GLOW for godsake. Everyone hates it and it doesn't work. Also empower people to leverage their common sense - not doing so wastes a tremendous amount of time and effort daily.
