I worked at Globus Medical full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. They are probably hiring as there is high- turnover. if you need a job, it's better than being homeless & hungry.
    2. You can only "go up" after working in the rock bottom environment at GM anywhere else will be an improvement after working here.

    Cons

Left this company 5 years ago, so the bitterness has worn off and only the sad truth remains. The previous negative reviews here are unfortunately all " spot on", including but not limited to:
    Low pay
Lack of career path opportunities unless you are related or a friend.
    Deceptively poor benefits offerings
Work areas & environment are awfully cramped, HVAC system broke down weekly
Management is incompetent and unqualified , many due to nepotism and favoritism.
Felt there was discrimination due to gender and race are surprisingly dominant occurrences in this company.
Product Development was founded on stolen designs from a former employer
    Management seemed paranoid

Globus is a truly awful place to work

I worked at Globus Medical full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

100% paid benefits, including your family coverage. Fascinating, hands-on type of product with plenty of opportunities for travel. Visiting surgeons often give presentations so if you have an interest in medicine you can learn from the best.

    Cons

Difficult to know where to begin: complete boys club, no women in management roles. Run by engineers with no business management skills who micromanage projects, unrealistic timelines with no support to achieve goals. Turnover is ridiculously high so there is little to no institutional knowledge and the average age is under 30. They say they provide training but it consists of weeks of off-site instruction on anatomy and sales techniques that are no use performing your actual job. The physical office is a complete dump and they recent bought the building next door that looks no better. Middle-management is completely powerless and upper management is vindictive. They monitor internet usage and severely restrict access to outside sites and cell reception is abysmal. There is zero (I really mean zero) opportunity to achieve any sort of work/life balance because they are too paranoid to allow any sort of telecommuting or flex time and you are only given 10 vacation days for the first 5 years of employment. and 90% of employees never make to 5 years. There is no snow policy, you are expected at the office no matter what the driving conditions and if you stay home you are docked a vacation day. There are over 400 people crammed into a single building served by a lunch room with 2 refrigerators, 4 microwaves and a single sink. The personnel have a bunker-type mentality because of the high-turnover - no point in being too friendly because no one stays. The furniture is used and mismatched and the lighting is truly terrible. I know I sound bitter but please heed my warning, this is a horrible, horrible place to work.

I have been working at Globus Medical full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flex hours allow employees to create their own schedule. Young workforce.

    Cons

Low pay. Weak benefits. Unhealthy work-life balance. Mediocrity is regularly rewarded. Management seems to believe that the way to get things done is to just scream louder. Unrealistic timelines.

The company takes advantage of its young workforce by setting impossible timelines to underpaid employees then yelling when the job takes as long as such jobs take.

There is a tightly knit 'inner circle' of friends of the CEO who are put into executive positions regardless of competence.

There is a ping-pong and pool table for show, but you will be yelled at for using either.

Attempts at legitimate innovation are stifled for copycat products.

Employees are given TWO WEEKS VACATION FOR THE FIRST FIVE YEARS. No increase until five years. For a public company employing professional workers that is unforgivable.

For a woman giving birth, the amount of paid time off is the legal minimum. 2 days. After that, time off is on you.

The amount of time that the pittance of a 401(k) contribution vests is as slow as is allowed under federal law.

I worked at Globus Medical full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Some very nice, overworked, under appreciated and severely underpaid people work there...all biding their time.q

    Cons

CEO is a severely suspicious micro manager that has no business in the front office. No real management skills ...unless you call being undeniably cheap, narcissistic and incestuous in his selection of managers, a style.

Family and friends reign at Globus.... None and I mean non have any management skills unless you call Managing A Taco Bell or an old folks home,...Prior management skills

Poorly paid, you will see more and more of the good folks who make it happen leave for better paying more appreciated jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

David Paul has got to go.... He needs to stay in Product Development, a.k.a. Copying other designs and hire a real CEO. Same with the VP's ...they are either related, friends or people who will do anything and everything without questioning The CEO or VP.....sort of like military commanders.

Get an original idea..... You'll find It refreshing to stay out of the courtroom.
