    Positive Outlook

I worked at GoGrid Cloud Hosting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Gogrid was a fun and energetic infrastructure as a service (IaSS) company. I had the opportunity to learn a lot of technologies which propelled my career.

    Cons

The company didn't offer a lot of vertical promotion opportunities, but that was due in part to the size of the business.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Continue providing opportunities to employees to learn and build their skill sets.

I have been working at GoGrid Cloud Hosting full-time

    Pros

Exposure to "everything" (networking, data center operations, customer support, sysops, devops, etc). Great place to gain job experience if you can tolerate the hours.

    Cons

Recently acquired by Datapipe, company now feels like an abandoned project. Employees are there just to keep things running until the inevitable.

    Advice to Management

Try listening to ALL you employees, not just the ones that revolve around your office all day.

many situations are not addressed properly or managed properly. there are a few employees that do not have filters and mistreat other employees with no repercussion.

    Advice to Management

reward your people, and hold the employees accountable for their work load.

I worked at GoGrid Cloud Hosting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Walking distance to some great restaurants, awesome views, some fun people.

    Cons

Poor salary, bad management, going no where. Each day is dismal.

    Advice to Management

Hire a professional team. Create a positive environment. Lunches and parties aren't rewarding enough for hard work and dedication.

I have been working at GoGrid Cloud Hosting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working at Gogrid gave me a lot of freedom to be creative, I earned well, and the people on the sales side were highly professional and friendly. I'd not worked with many other departments, but holiday parties were enjoyable. A great bunch of loyal characters there.

    Cons

There was little reward for innovation and what reward there was often required thick skin. The infamous, "no good deed went unpunished."

    Advice to Management

Reward extra effort with freedom and respect. Start shifting away from a pure startup mentality.

I worked at GoGrid Cloud Hosting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Terrific Technology with bright, motivated people who work well as teams. Location is wonderful and Friday lunches were terrific. There was a good focus on keeping customers happy and helping them fully utilize GoGrid product and services. Benefits were awesome and the 401K matching was the best I've ever had

    Cons

Senior Leadership was all over the map - and it bit them big time. Deciding the fate of the company and walking away from so many opportunities created a number of layoffs this year. Also caused an exodus of long time employees who didn't see a light at the end of the tunnel.

    Advice to Management

Decide and act on final disposition of the company. Shareholders and employees need to see this happen soon

    Pros

Good people, exposure to lots of technology, great office location.

    Cons

The CEO has likely burned every bridge he has ever had, and seems to be ready to stab you in the back to make an extra cent at a moments notice. More than half the staff was laid off and you get the sense that he probably enjoyed it.

    Advice to Management

Hand over the reigns to someone who knows how to run a business.

I worked at GoGrid Cloud Hosting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart, dedicated people that focused on helping each other Cool Technology that served customers well Started to focus on Career Paths

    Cons

Leadership Lost Focus and went into a downward spiral. Layoffs have followed and the company is in survival mode.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent about your plans - focus more on how decisions will impact staff. The technology and services are outstanding, but without significant additional investment, the customer base will continue to shrink.
