I have been working at GoHealth full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing commission bonuses and hours. You can pick shifts you want. Leadership at its finest. Team leaders and supervisors are just a phone call or office room away. Very disciplined training program that will make you a fine health insurance agent.

    Cons

Once open enrollment is over, if you're not one of the top performers, get ready to be let go. Once it opens again, they'll come calling you again for a job opportunity. Same loop over and over again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find ways to make your employees busy outside of open enrollment. Customer service or special enrollment roles would be fine.

I have been working at GoHealth as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

The commission check was nice. You learn everything about health insurance. It's great sales experience, really easy to bring up in an interview. Your coworkers are really fun people, the dress is casual, it's a super easy job most of the time without being boring. Working at merchandise mart is great.

Sometimes, there is unlimited overtime - I never worked it, but I still think this is a pro because it allows you to increase your check and set your own schedule some days. It's nice to get extra compensation for every second you spend over 40 hours.

    Cons

It's temp work without benefits - you get sick, it's reflected in your paycheck. There is no time off during the enrollment period. The base pay is just awful. You're tied to your desk, it's very restrictive and feels juvenile and petty. A lot of the managers aren't really qualified - they're very young, they've only been there a year (turnover is about 1 year). A LOT of incidents and a lot of firing occur at GoHealth. End of enrollment period gets incredibly slow.

On some campaigns you are not eligible for commission until November 15, but they do their utmost to stay absolutely silent about this fact. So be prepared to sit at your desk and do nothing for a weeks or months making only base pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TRANSPARENCY. Be honest about what we're getting into! It's a call center, don't try to hide that.
Also, sick leave and PTO are a must.

I have been working at GoHealth full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nice managers, team environment, rewards for doing well, paid weekly. Easiest money I have ever made, only reason i would recommend. great downtown locations

    Cons

Constant change and miscommunication with management, made a simple job complicated. Many co workers were unprofessional (drama). Paycheck issues

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Tighten up management!!!

Could also improve in the hiring process

HOURS! Working 11 hour days can be hard and since hr has to approve a schedule change, it lead to me being let go with school starting. Try and be more flexible while still obtaining 40 hours a week.

I have been working at GoHealth

    Pros

They pay for you to take your health insurance licensing exam and training courses which is normally several hundred dollars. They also fill out licensing paper work for other states so you get licensed in multiple states without having to do anything. They on occasion bring you snacks and food for lunch.

    Cons

There is an over all sense that they are trying to find new ways to lower your commission checks, for example your commission is negatively effected for many factors that are out of your control.
