I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great team, very supportive, very fun, everyone always willing to pitch in, easy to find cover if you need to be out a class, the pay is good and it's increased for those who work across the bridge due to the bridge fees, managers are always willing to help out if you need it

    Cons

Hard to get a class to regularly teach, but this is not really a fault of Gold's more so just having enough instructors of a certain class available to cover if need be. More logistics than Gold's.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your members. Watch the Facebook page, many are expressing the want of a certain classes added or certain times, and not much is done sometimes. Make announcements that you see their posts and are working on it.

We in Maryland are having our child care privileges removed due to a law they refuse to share with us.

I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time

    Pros

I'm required to enter 5 words, so there you go.

    Cons

We have been informed that we can no longer use child care, due to a Maryland state regulation that they have refused to share with us, despite being asked multiple times by multiple people. No other gym chains are aware of such a law, nor are any of the lawmakers. If you work in Maryland, Tennessee, or Georgia, would you reply whether or not this is true for you? We have been told those states are being affected, as well.

I have been working at Gold's Gym full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule and satisfaction in helping others in health and wellness. Co-workers and other staff are wonderful to work with.

    Cons

Not great benefits, lowest paid in area for instructors and trainers, upper management (above GMs) very negative and constantly trying to manage with fear tactic. Members often are dissatisfied with billings and membership cancelation process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to create an environment with a positive and encouraging relationship. Focus on staff engagement and/or staff appreciation.

I have been working at Gold's Gym

    Pros

Work-life balance is great and it is a fun atmosphere in which to work.

I have been working at Gold's Gym part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You make as much as you work. Potential to make up to 3,500 bi-weekly.

    Cons

Difficult to get people to sign. You almost have to swindle people to make them sign. No real assessment on nutrition which is the main reason most clients don't lose weight in the first place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Provide training.
