Cons – If you are excellent with cash transactions it will be difficult for you to transition from the a line worker to a waitress position.

Cons – It's the restaurant business in general, but if you want a 9 to 5 job, the restaurant business is not for you - but there are a variety of shifts available.

Advice to Senior Management – Advertise job openings internally - try to identify your high performers and let them know about advancement opportunities

Pros – The atmosphere is fantastic. There is always something to do. The food is pretty good and it's nice to interact with the customers, especially the regulars.

Cons – Getting paid salary for 40 hours a week but actually working 65+ hours a week. The upper management is very condensing, constantly threatening your job if productivity doesn't improve or other factors. They complain that I hired lousy people but they wont let me pay over 7 bucks an hour. That's not much to work with.

Advice to Senior Management – Hire more mangers so they are not overworked.

You make good money on tips
They can and do work around your schedule, if you have another job or are going to college
Job is very easy

Cons – You have to pay to eat from the buffet
some people that go there are really (really) low class
sometimes the management make mistakes when posting your schedule
the food is all the unhealthy (not contaminated), grassy, fried thing that you can imagine.
You are going to work long hours carrying heavy stuffs

Pros – flexible scheduling, great coworkers, awesome supervisors,best hours for single parents, golden corral has some of the best customers

Cons – not serving breakfast during week days the hours are less than if they did but it does work out great if you have small children to get to school.

Pros – They worked with my schedule during college and high school. Also, it was a very friendly environment.

Cons – We began to open on christmas day a few years back and I felt this was very selfish to the employees. Also, morning shifts are usually designated by seniority or prioritized for people with children at the location I work at. Besides this I really don't have any complaints.

Advice to Senior Management – switch the shifts more often
