    Pros

There's nothing better than working with great people. GS has that. I found my particular role challenging and interesting, with open-ended and hard investment questions.

    Cons

Ensuring that nothing slips through the cracks can be draining, and the expectation is a flawless final work product and continuous availability.

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive environment, pushes you to perform your best. Creates unlimited career opportunities. Learn a lot and meet very intelligent people who will be successful so your network increases in value significantly. Great perks, good compensation

    Cons

Public company. Although creates unlimited career opportunities, vehemently opposed to external recruiting so difficult to use them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work and pay your analysts more or they will leave for the buy-side, time and time again.

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The office was composed of very smart and ambitious people. You are given the opportunity to contribute from day one, the learning curve is quite steep but team members are very supportive and willing to teach. Flat corporate structure where even interns have access to VP's and Managing Directors.

    Cons

    Far away from NY.

I have been working at Goldman Sachs as a contractor for more than 8 years

    Pros

Work assignments are challenging and interesting. Work place is very professional and pleasant. Technologies used, while not the latest are up to date and provide good experience. Pay is decent.

    Cons

Demanding hours and squeeze on work-life balance. Commercial reality means tight time schedules and not enough time for training or mastering the technologies behind the scene. Also, choice of technologies is limited to what is currently in use in the firm.
