Hard work, but the branding pays off.

Analyst (Current Employee)
Salt Lake City, UT

I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time for more than a year

ProsGreat brand name. Employees generally have a high level of competency, and are great to work with. A lot of opportunities for growth, as everyday is a challenge.

ConsCompany is pretty lean, may or may not be a good thing. Hours are long, and they keep you busy.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider beefing up a little, when you stretch employees out too thin, that's when there's higher attrition rates.

Experience has been overall good but difficult unless you pretend to agree with everything "Goldman"

Product Controller (Current Employee)
Salt Lake City, UT

I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time for more than 3 years

ProsCompetitive environment. In the good years, if you've performed well per your manager, bonuses are quite good. Good training and the company does push community involvement.

ConsFor the Salt Lake office specifically, management truly subscribes as SLC as a cost savings center. Salaries are justified lower due to location, but only for those hired on in SLC versus if you transfer in from another location.
For internal mobility, some jobs can be blocked if they don't want you to move, which seems contrary to what managers say.
Review process is really only about what your manager thinks of you.
