100% of the CEO
Pros – Best hospital system for patients to choose in East Texas. Level II trauma center. Large NICU with excellent staff. Self governed, so no large hospital system to impose regulations. This hospital system is dedicated to the community and follows the principles of servant leadership. GSMC provides pro-bono work for community members when there is a need, knowing that the patient can not pay. New CEO (not Ed Banos) sends weekly email updates about finances, staffing, patient praises/complaints. Feeling of unity among co-workers.
Cons – Company is in the midst of some trying financial times...raises currently on hold; however, we are projected to be back on track within the next 6 months. Recently had to withdraw reimbursement for CEU fees, license/registration fees, and incentive pay.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
Pros – Good co-workers; benefits for employees were good and salaries were competitive; it's a 24/7, fluctuating census kind of business, so one has to be aware of that kind of schedule demands
Cons – sometimes sent home or not called in on scheduled days when few patients were in beds; hard on some trying to pay bills
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
Pros – None, poor attitudes with health care staff
Cons – Too political and looks down on nursing staff
Advice to Senior Management – Consider your sources of information. Look at complainers and question them first and seek to find out their reasons to complain. It could be that they are the lazy ones!
