I have been working at Good Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart people, flexible work schedule, fully stocked kitchen with variety of stuff, some people can work from home

    Cons

CONSTANT FEAR OF LAYOFFS, Last layoffs (over 100 people) were bad without any notice, not even a day! Search it online. Outsourcing to India and China. Top heavy No good/clear communication with employees about real situations People have started leaving already making the environment uneasy to work. Management keeps making false hopes for IPO for years now NO GOOD BONUS OR APPRAISALS FOR EXISTING EMPLOYEES. Basically no intentions to retain good employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep the work in USA, you might save some money but you loose control of Devs/QAs and they leave quickly with knowledge at offshore locations. Clear communication about future plans and give some notice before layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Be honest about how bad it has become

    Pros

Exciting market, great/eager/loyal customers, new and innovative solutions, accessible and open minded Management, fair compensation

    Cons

Net new logo acquisition pales in comparison to growth of existing customers, largely in "regulated" industries. This makes life tough for a "hunter" Sales Rep and would explain the cherry picking of accounts and why some Reps are 300% of quota and some equally talented Reps are at 50%.

    Advice to Management

Improve quota calibration, recognize the job market is hot and do something nice for your employees/ quarterly bonus, keep innovating.....but faster!, invest in more Support and/ or create better tools and programs to prevent issues.

I worked at Good Technology full-time

    Pros

Good is a once-dominant player in a hot industry, that has a sizeable install base. Salaries seem to be on par with the industry.

    Cons

The company has failed to keep up with the times, and clung to an obsolete platform and architecture (who distributes a windows app these days, especially 32-bit non-threaded ones?) for far too long. Small, nimble startup competitors outmaneuvered and took most of the market share away. New management (CEO and execs) were incapable of stemming the tide. No new funding is incoming; massive layoffs have occurred over the past year or two as they try to stay afloat. Sales teams that used to have 10-12 reps and engineers are down to 2. Needless to say, there is no career advancement and everyone is viewed as expendable. A constant parade of VPs are brought in to much fanfare, only to figure out how troubled the company is and try to leave - but they are under contract so they get pushed aside into meaningless roles while some other sucker is brought in.

    Advice to Management

Try to sell for as much as you can, now. It's too late to go public.

I have been working at Good Technology (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - high salary compared to market

    Cons

    - Lack of execution from support functions (support, SE...) - Solutions are interesting but less and less stable

    Advice to Management

IPO is a way to support a successful strategic plan for a company, not a final target!

    Pros

Well positioned in the mobile industry (security app). Pay well and have proficient staff.

    Cons

Social Darwinism type of management (in EMEA). Anyone can be sacked at any time. Leaders are sales people with cold heart. Everything focused to selling more.
