Former Employee – worked at Goodman Manufacturing full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – A paycheck until you can find something else.
Cons – Oh my. Where to start? Executive team arrogant and incredibly greedy, only interested in achieving the plan to make their bonuses at any and all cost. No respect or appreciation for employees or customers. Unreasonable expectations. Every day is a fire drill.
Advice to Senior Management – Take your mountain of money and quit destroying what used to be a good company.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Goodman Manufacturing full-time for less than a year
Pros – If you want lots of overtime, this is the place for you.
The work isn't hard.
Coworkers are nice and helpful.
Seems they care about safety.
Cons – This place doesn't care about its' employees. I have been there only a few days as a temp and have been told by 3 people that have worked there for a while that I won't want to work there. No coworker I've spoke with likes working for Goodman.
The temp service lied to me about the number of hours and days of work to get me to work there (the shift I'm on works 7 10 hour shifts with no days off).
The base pay isn't enough (Other companies in the area pay better).
Its' hot. No AC in an AC production plant.
The hours and days are long.
They can't keep employees so they have a very high turnover and everybody is shorthanded.
Some employees were temp employees for a very long time...years even. This is not fair, especially with how hard jobs are to come by these days, people need job security.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay your employees better. Maybe have profit-sharing or employee ownership via stock options. Get your employees involved in your company. Listen to your employees. Care about your employees.

Former Employee – worked at Goodman Manufacturing full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Got my Paycheck every two weeks
Cons – If your goal is to make little money, learn nothing and work long hrs this is the company to work for. Working at Goodman was the biggest mistake of my carrier so far.
Literally a sweatshop; Office temperatures are set above 80 degree F in summer and below 70 degrees in winter to save electricity bill.
Very poor HR. Watch out for false promises and lies.
Advice to Senior Management – You can put only so much lipsick on a Pig.

Current Employee – been working at Goodman Manufacturing full-time for less than a year
Pros – Great people both internally and externally.
Cons – Old, old, and inefficient processes, do we really need 3 full sheets of paper for a single order. Need to streamline logistics and barcode every piece of merchandise.
Advice to Senior Management – I really like the streamlined management theory, few chiefs and plenty of indians, sorry for the pun.

Current Employee – been working at Goodman Manufacturing
Pros – - Fast moving environment, never boring
- Located in Houston
- Close to the expressway
- I have a nice chair
Cons – The expectations are borderline insane. Everything is due yesterday so people get worn thin and nothing gets done on time. Management doesn't care about employees or their happiness, they just want costs to go down so they can get their bonuses. Pay is average, benefits is average, no bonuses/tuition help. Favoritism for people who get promoted. No real career advancement. Most people arent here long enough anyways because they quit. Expect to work 10 hours a day minimum.
Advice to Senior Management – Increase pay, get more training programs. Hire more people or stop trying so many projects at once. Please realize almost everyone here is unhappy with the culture and will eventually leave.

Current Employee – been working at Goodman Manufacturing
Pros – Benefits are good for a company this size.
Pay is adequate (not great but ok).
Cons – They don't hide the fact that for professional level white-collar jobs, they are not competitive with salaries in Houston market.
Caring about their employees is lip service when it comes to how they demonstrate "caring" for hourly employees in the shop. No A/C or heat from a company that builds A/C units and furnaces. Talk about a sweat shop (literally)!!!
Not an environment that seeks talent. Seems they're ok staffing up with C players.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend some money to get real talent that will help the organization take it to the next level. Engineering is weak (you settle for C players in Houston market), Marketing & Sales is stale and HR is old school!
