I have been working at Goodrich full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Management was eager to gather input from employees
Culture was one of teamwork and open thinking
Benefits were outstanding (health, retirement, etc)

    Cons

Goodrich was acquired by United Technologies
UTC changed many of the positives from the Goodrich culture by implementing their own polices/procedures

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The UTC management that is now in place does not care about the lower level employees opinions/thoughts. Management should be making some attempt to involve actual employees in the change process instead of implementing and then forcing it on them.

    I worked at Goodrich

    Pros

Working at Goodrich gave employees a sense of pride. They were very good at keeping growth conservative so that their workforce was not subject to multiple layoffs.

    Cons

Sadly, Goodrich was acquired in 2012.

    I worked at Goodrich full-time

    Pros

I can't think of any, except that the management was beginning to change for the better when I left.

    Cons

Bait-and switch hiring tactics appeared to be common, and the company was more than willing to overload the employee with so much work that long hours were necessary to keep up. In addition, training was on a "sink or swim" basis, which set up employees for failure. Abusive co-workers were tolerated and were defended by H.R. and the management staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appropriately staff your business with employees who are properly trained and know what they're getting into, prior to making the job offfer to them.
