    Pros

    Biuld nascar tires, paid ok

    Cons

The new hires get screwed in every way. If you're a good employee you get treated like crap, harassment is rampant.

    Advice to Management

If I only new the laws and understood them like do know.

    Pros

There appear to be many opportunity within the company for career growth. As an intern I was never stuck doing a single task, always challenging. Management allowed enough space for a comfortable experience, but checked in occasionally to ensure progress was being made.

    Cons

There were a couple of disappointments for me. They included the lack of low level design. Also I was surprised a how slowly projects can move in a large corporation.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing. I had no problems with any management while I was here. Definitely a good program that has been tuned over the many years its been in place.

    Pros

Modern open work environment, free covered parking, on-site gym facilities, concierge service and Goodyear service store pic-up and drop off.

    Cons

Long hours, mediocre pay, poor raises unless you're in the level that gets bonuses, most don't. Management takes an "I don't care attitude" If you don't like it there's more where you came from. Management doesn't learn from the mistakes of the past but then again there's few left from the past that they can learn from because they've let them all go and they're not availing themselves of the knowledge of the few that are left that could benefit the company in the future.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees! Especially the older ones that have been around and have "Goodyear" experience. Foster mentoring between young and old to pass on this corporate knowledge.

    Pros

Stable enough for Akron, pay was okay, a lot of talking.

    Cons

Very insider group so don't make waves that is for sure, if its a mess don't suggest ways to fix it because you'll be insulting the manager who made the mess and has built their career on it. Moves at the pace of a dinosaur because its stuck in 90's which is IT career death. Nothing modern at all.

    Advice to Management

Clean house in IT management, hire people who know how to run modern systems and you will be a lot better off.

    Pros

The compensation is a as much as you will ever receive for a factory position. The benefits and insurance is ok.

    Cons

Pay scale makes you wait 3 years until you go to top rate. No raises at all for three years. Grandfathered employees make more than new hires will ever make for the same job.

    Advice to Management

Communication between are managers is lacking. Very cut throat environment.

    Pros

Good pay, good people, work life balance. Not too many complaints I can think of.

    Cons

Akron isn't the best place in the world. Not many complaints with Goodyear though

    Pros

The pay is good, the benefits are acceptable, the onsite amenities for HQ are very good. Some managers are great to work for.

    Cons

Bureaucratic mess for management chain. Too many managers, too much hierarchy, too many people need to be involved in decisions.

    Advice to Management

    Slim down the hierarchy.

    Pros

The pay and benefits are above average. There are many opportunities and careers in which to seek, and the company is large.

    Cons

The above opportunities are there if one is willing to deftly navigate very political waters. The company says that it is trying to be a fresher, more modern company but still has an ego and an old-school mentality. There is a large schism between what the company says in terms of valuing the employee and work-life balance and what the realities are in terms of how individuals are treated and rewarded. The two are not the same and there is a contradiction almost to a point of hypocrisy as to what is "said" and what is "done"

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Really listen. Stand up for the employee when they need the support. Upper-middle management, don't make management afraid to speak up for themselves or the individual contributors who report to them.
