I have been working at Google full-time

    Pros

Working with incredibly smart, passionate, positive people. Benefits (free food, massage credits, etc.) Working on products that have billions of users.

    Cons

Google is probably the best large company to work for, but it's still a large company. But, every year the leadership is a little more removed from the reality of low- and mid-level engineers and it shows in tone and decision-making.

    Advice to Management

Get grounded by talking to random rank-and-file engineers on their impressions of what's important and what's happening within the company.

I have been working at Google (Less than a year)

    Pros

The free food and benefits make leaving work in the evenings difficult!

    Cons

Not much I can say about cons. I do sometimes with a bit more visibility from upper management was present. But all in all its a great place to work with bright and motivated individuals.

    Advice to Management

Share a bit more high level overview of product pipeline so that engineers feel motivated to work hard and understand the bigger picture.

    Pros

Its not everyday that one can say that they get to participate creating Google. Best job in the world.

    Cons

Having time to take of myself physically, and taking the the time to eat properly.

    Advice to Management

Jus by being told they are apreciated, or did a good job carries more weight than a dollar.

I have been working at Google full-time

    Pros

I love Google as a company. I know it's the greatest place I'll ever work. The people are incredibly smart and the perks cannot be beat.

    Cons

I can't really think of much. It is true that the coolest jobs are in CA, so if you're in another office the opportunities can be limiting.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! Bring more teams outside of sales to offices across the US. Overall, not much to change!

    Pros

Benefits, travel, people. Lots of food, good amenities and the latest techonology. Best place to work for.

    Cons

It is in Buenos Aires. This job is available all over the world and the pay in other places is way better.

    Advice to Management

No, thank you. Seriously. These are just words to meet the minimum. God this site is annoying.

I worked at Google full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Smart people - Outstanding perks (gym, food, massage) - Good pay/benefits - World-changing culture from Larry and Sergey driving the mission of Google forward

    Cons

    - Various levels of talent in the broader organization. Although some of the employees are inspirational, e.g., Senior Engineering Directors and Strategy leads who are seasoned, brilliant leaders from McKinsey, Goldman, etc - the majority of the workforce is comprised of apathetic, lazy technical and sales staff who just need the paycheck to cover their jumbo Bay Area mortgage - Career development and skillset training is a bit limited compared to other fast-paced work environments

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make the magic of Google come alive as it did in its earlier start-up days. The company has become a bit too much of a slow, unresponsive battleship in the tech ocean to be dynamic enough. 99% of employees are driving the revenue and service needed so that 1% of the employees can build game-changing products and innovation.
