Advice to Senior Management – Continue to empower you employees, it makes a difference. Also, don't sell out for the highest bidder if it means the new company will destroy what we have built.

Pros – Exciting, challenging and generally a great work environment. Really have a chance to make a difference! Work with state of the art technologies and hardware.
Cons – Sometimes work gets a bit stressful, but one is rarely forced to work long days. Its a very dynamic environment, as is the technology industry so you may need to switch gears frequently.

Former Employee – worked at Google as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Very smart and helpful colleagues.
A plethora of cool technologies
A large amount of trust in the employees, even interns have access to a lot of confidential material.
Cons – Steep learning curve for the technologies used.
Many projects still use C++, which lacks good tool support.
Once in a while there is a reorg of projects, which is annoying to be held up by.
Differences in interview practice from office to office.

First class experience in the design of the reliable and robust cloud services.
Smart and creative coworkers.

As an employee of Google you feel that you're in the center of the biggest innovations happening right now, and if you're are self-motivated and diligent you will be able to accomplish a lot in this company.

Current Employee – been working at Google full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Food - they keep us well fed with only the best and healthiest
People - this is by far the biggest asset of the company. The high hiring bar maintains the high standards, and despite a people crunch they'd rather not hire at all, than lower the bar.
Ethics - the company is awesome at doing the right thing.
Cons – Competitive - what you get when you hire A-types.
Career path not always available due to staffing/headcount/growth/project location

Current Employee – been working at Google
Pros – Smart people. Some interesting projects. Casual working environment in contrast to other Zurich companies. Nice office. Good pay, more than the other Google offices.
Cons – Too many males. Not enough ethnicity. Some uninteresting projects. Unlike the banks, this company is not Swiss. Most corporate power is in U.S.A. offices.
