I have been working at Gordon College (Massachusetts)

    Pros

The Leadership is wonderful to work for. They are very accessible and are great at listening to employees.

    Great benefits package.

    Cons

There really aren't to many cons besides pay. But if you're looking to work at a Not for Profit, Higher Ed institution, I hope you aren't expecting to be making the big bucks.

I worked at Gordon College (Massachusetts)

    Pros

Great benefits and very flexible working hours. On top of that the staff are generally very pleasant to work with.

    Cons

The pay is very low. They make up for it in benefits, but do not expect a high salary. Also, raises are not performance based, you pretty much get a CoL increase once a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue what you are doing. Focus on growing employees and helping graduates get a stepping stone into the real world

I worked at Gordon College (Massachusetts)

    Pros

Great community, good benefits, very understanding of family life, beautiful campus, free gym and discount meal plan, great coworkers, paid Christmas week off

    Cons

does not pay industry standards, did not do a good job listening to the "individual contributors" when making the big decisions, no consistency in benefits from one employee to another (ie, maternity leave)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

its the people on the front lines who have the most contact with students and the community, and these employees deserve to be given more respect, not just the people who bring in the money.

    Pros

Great working enviroment, exellent benefits and friendly co-workers. Oportunity to work as a professional while discovering future career aspirations. Relaxed atmosphere.

    Cons

Low pay, as is often the case with non-profits. Lots of inificiency and poor workers can usually get away with under performing.
