    Pros

Still family owned and operated. Good equipment and great maintenance people. Hard work unloading trailers, but good workout every day.

    Cons

Used to be great place to work now only good. As they expand little things that made them different are gone and now is very corporate. Too big too fast and now has become just like sysco and u.s. foods.

    Advice to Management

The ship of employee advice has long since sailed a now they give surveys by outside companies to get the input they want. This category is not relevant anymore.

    Pros

Great benefits and fantastic owners to work for. Truly care about their employees!! I left after 20 years...best experience!

    Cons

In outside sales you can work a lot of hours and easily 6 days a week. Hard to find a happy medium.

    Pros

Most of the employees there are awesome people and easy to work with. Easy work and can be fun if you are working with fun people that day. Decent employee discount.

    Cons

Repetitive work. Management is mediocre at best. Told when you can take a break and when you can't. Sometimes you are told you cannot take a break at all. One manager in particular (unnamed) is awful at his/her job and blames everyone except for his/her mess ups. The GFS radio is the worst thing ever.

    Advice to Management

Fire the above person I am referring to and hire someone that actually knows what they would be doing.

    Pros

They have great benefits for full time employees and it's a very stable company. The bonus potential was nice, especially since bonuses are paid out quarterly.

    Cons

The manager hours are not great. You are expected to work 50 hours a week and then for two weeks out of the year you have mandatory 60 hours a week. The pay isn't terrible until you figure up how much extra you have to work, not counting days you don't leave on time.

    Pros

Lots of nice and friendly coworkers. The work environment isn't too bad and it's nice interacting with customers throughout the day.

    Cons

awful pay with little to no raises, poor management, don't appreciate hard work, understaffed constantly. scheduling is flexible

    Advice to Management

recognize hard work and learn to appreciate. offer more opportunities for raises. schedule more people when needed rather than just expecting a few people to take on a double load of work.

    Pros

Great innovative company on top of industry trends, keeps employees challenged. Room to grow and advance with in the company.

    Cons

Do not have the correct people in management.

    Pros

Benifits are ok Company training Nice new headquarters to work in Weekly pay Some Managers still truly care about their people

    Cons

CIO has no clue as to what's really happening below him The family feeling is long gone The Gordon Family appears to be out of touch with the reality of the ground floor workings Budgets are severely unrealistic compared to growth Bonus program designed to ensure a failure rate to save the company money Too many 'clicks' within the Corporate Office Hard working people go unrecognized unless they deal directly with the customer

    Advice to Management

The Gordon Family has lost track of what is happening below them. There are very few Team Managers left that follow the Corner Stone Values. The Directors are the worst I have encountered. They tell the CIO whatever they think he wants to hear and they do not listen or take value in suggestions or opinions of staff. It feels that most Directors make uneducated decisions on the fly then blame the employee when something fails due to their decisions. The CIO is too comfortable in his role and should be replaced with somebody new who actually knows what's going on below them and does not allow Directors to pass the buck. Any promotion of a Director would be a waste of time as they are only there for the paycheck.
