I have been working at Govig & Associates full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great group of people on your team.
    Very team oriented,
Plenty of opportunities to make money
    Minimal micromanagement
Get the job done, and work at your pace
Only recruiting executives, so not big transactional based, like most recruiting firms

    Cons

    Trial by fire
Quick training, like two days worth before you are expected to be full go.
Need to put in a lot of calls, to vet candidates, but we are only finding executive quality.
Learn as you go, lots of cold calling, into businesses
You need to come in knowing how a hiring manager operates

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement a true training program to get people started on the right foot.

I worked at Govig & Associates

    Pros

The training program here is excellent; they truly provide recruiters with the fundamentals of recruiting and sourcing and develop their skills through continued training. For those who are successful at recruiting, they can earn a very good living here.

    Cons

I think the owners are wonderful people but their is a weird culture that treats them as if they were gods. I found the cultish aspect very unsettling. However I know many people who still work for this organization love it. So I guess it works for them!

I have been working at Govig & Associates full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Before stepping into a brand new industry, I spent most of my years in retail working with various corporations. I graduated from the local university and did not plan on obtaining a new job until changes at my employer began to affect my life at home. I knew that I needed to find something more rewarding in which I may be able to use my past skills, and newly completed education. I endured more than most recent graduates. After graduating, I was offered a new job with another recruiting firm that was much smaller in PHX. Before leaving my retail employer, the offer was retracted due to poor business planning and other internal issues. I was a candidate before I became an employee with Govig. I worked with the Local Market team to seek employment, until I came across an opportunity to interview with Govig.

I went on a total of 3 interviews with Govig, but was hired in the matter of 1.5 weeks. Since I became an active part of the Govig family, I have learned more than I thought I would and already achieved much success due to support system company wide. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you can ask any colleague on any of the teams questions to help guide you in the right direction. If you are looking for a completely rewarding career with an awesome environment filled with a diverse group of people, then this is the place for you.

We all work hard so we can play even harder.

    Cons

Training: Some might find the training process to be a con, but the only way you can learn something new is by diving in, making mistakes, and ask questions.
Not a 9-5: I do not see this as a problem, but again some might see it as an issue. You only get out of your work, what you put into it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Having bi-weekly statuses with trainees will allow them to better gauge how they are performing.

I have been working at Govig & Associates full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The recruiters work very hard to get you a fair salary. They only work with reputable companies and are very detailed during the interview process. They are honest and upfront. I worked with Devin, Chris and Shannon. They are very professional and know the industry well.

    Cons

The only thing I can say is that they do not have a presence in the Texas region. But I think this will change in the near future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have a great team of recruiters. They work hard and they are very honest and professional. Take notice because this is very hard to find in today's job market

I have been working at Govig & Associates part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I really enjoy my work--while it can be somewhat repetitive, connecting with each candidate and client is always interesting. Govig really strives to have an environment where the employees both work and play hard. Every individual I've encountered has been friendly, helpful and open to any questions. Hard work is always recognized and rewarded--as an intern the better you do the more experience you can gain and this supportive environment is the best place to do so!

    Cons

Nothing to say here--any issues one may have are quickly resolved as long as they are addressed properly.

I have been working at Govig & Associates as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Company culture is great. There is lots of positivity in the office and employees challenge each other in a healthy way. This was my first position in a corporate environment and management was very helpful.

    Cons

My work tends to be repetitive. There was not a lot of room for me to try new things or push boundaries as an intern.
