    Pros

Employee owned, excellent overall benefits and working conditions. Culture of taking care of the family. Pay and ownership structure combine to make it a great place develop a career.

    Cons

Rapid growth and change has made for some bumps in the road. For the size of the company, there are some surprising areas that the company is behind in. The company seems to be about continual improvement and the employee problem areas fall back to the employee owners, who are working to overcome.

    Advice to Management

Just remember the past, it was a great company, still is, and focus on the core strengths that made the company what it is will result in another 80 years.

    Pros

Supportive coworkers, very positive and friendly atmosphere. Corporate activities. Good benefits.

    Cons

Very stressful, training could be much better. Lack of organization. Crucial to be 1 million percent careful before submitting work, otherwise it will result in a mistake worth millions of dollars. Redundancy in work.

    Pros

When busy, plenty of opportunities for overtime

    Cons

Top heavy. A few of those in charge couldn't construct with Lego sets, let alone steel studs, wood, concrete, bricks and mortar.

    Advice to Management

Don't just promote the brown nosers! Look at the guys in the field, too. They may know a thing or two and be worthy of promotion.

    Pros

Graham pays salaried employees overtime while working on site Leadership within the company is good and opportunity is available for anyone who works hard enough to get it

    Cons

Raises year to year are minimal and those who do get a descent raise generally leverage another offer

    Advice to Management

give employees the recognition they deserve and base bonuses on individual performance

    Pros

Worked with a great team of co-workers, The new CEO seems to be trying to put together a plan to change direction which is innovative and creative for the construction industry. HR has launched some new leadership material which looks quite good and hopefully can improve poor leaders and managers.

    Cons

Many senior leaders have been there a long time and not progressive or eager to listen to employees. Many of the senior people are all part of the same family so if you are family, great but if not, you will be unlikely to progress.

    Advice to Management

Improve performance management for employees. Improve corporate communication.

    Pros

Very creative and challenging environment; looks like it is recovering well from a difficult period; introducing new training and HR programs that look promising; the employees truly own the business - there is no control group and no special deals for senior management, so it is the real deal if you commit to it

    Cons

There is a traditional group that is resistant to change. Some segments take an old-style approach to fixed price work, but there have been some changes to the senior leadership team over the past year that is bring a fresh perspective that looks like it will result in positive change. In the past, the Accounting, HR and IT groups were looked at like pure overhead and the morale in these groups was terrible. But there is a new CFO and new senior HR guy who are making big changes quickly, so it could be very different in a year or two.

    Advice to Management

Keep on changing and improving - your employees are your shareholders and they want you to succeed

    Pros

Employee owned, employee accountable... strong leadership and committment to success.

    Cons

Changes are inevitable in a growing company, and Graham is no exception. If you are willing to accept change and be a part of the solution rather than focus on what might be seen as problems, you are part of the company with the same vision as its leaders.

    Advice to Management

Communication can always improve, but the leaders are true leaders.

    Pros

Graham is an employee owned company that is moving forward after a restructuring. New leadership training and educational programs are being rolled out for employees. This is a very exciting time for the company, with new key leadership roles being filled by talented, experienced. individuals.

    Cons

Not a good place for those that don't like change.

    Advice to Management

Nice to see Graham moving forward and listening to the employees' feedback.
