Pros
Okay place to work. GT promotes work life balance. Compensation is comparable to other firms similar in size. Management provides proper feedback. Senior management is approachable. There is room to advance in the future to more senior positions. Management is fair in deciding compensation for each year. GT provides 3 weeks of vacation compared to 2 weeks offered by some other employers.
Cons
Only 50% of medical and dental premiums are paid by GT. No fitness reimbursement or other such benefits are provided. No overtime compensation or other OT policies (i.e., banking of overtime - offered by some of the other mid-size firms).
Advice to Senior Management
Need to ensure work is allocated fairly amongst employees as employees are required to work excessive OT all year around.
Pros
Medium sized national firm for CAs
Cons
The Vancouver office promotes itself as if they are Big 4 when they make their staff work, but reminds its staff they are really a medium size firm when it comes to salaries and benefits. Also, when they recruit, they exaggerate the "opportunities" they offer and how the assurance staff will get chances to work on "different" clients - mark the word "exaggerate".
Advice to Senior Management
Politics, Boys' Club, Asian Sweatshop - I think those expressions say it all. At this day and age to not have any internally promoted female partner is quite shocking. Feedback to Senior Management - none to add besides the ones your staff have repeatedly told you in many forms.
