    Pros

Great work life balance. Great coworkers and management. They are concerned about you as a person and don't treat you like you are a number. There are little perks that while aren't that significant show they care about you and your family. Excellent leadership.

    Cons

While consolidating services you have limited the effectiveness of your staff. Things that you once could accomplish quickly are now more cumbersome due to additional paperwork and policies enacted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great company. Don't make so many changes that you loose who you are and why you are successful.

    Pros

If you are part of the "in" crowd you will go far.
    PTO great
Social Contract - if used correctly.

    Cons

Salary structure does not promote achieving. Once the mid-level is obtained, the percent of raise decreases.
    Downsizing and selling of divisions.
Senior management is not in tune with what is going on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a good hard look at some of the senior management and determine if they are the correct people to keep the company going and obtain the earnings goal.

    Pros

Their social contract is a great equalizer amond all the employees & managers. It encourages everyone to treat each other with respect.

    Cons

Many of the new employees (i.e. managers) are under such pressure that the first thing out the door was the social contract. It use to be very family oriented but now seem to be all about the bottom line.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the current employees more closely. They know what is working and what isn't. Bringing in new management only muddies the water as they bring their style of management to the organization.

    Pros

There is a some-what family type atmosphere. Frank Dejulio is a likeable person to work for and with. There is definately promotion potential because the company lacks strong, trustworthy agents.

    Cons

there are constant changes in the companies we write business with, the commission structures are always changing, the process which we get paid is constantly changing (one company is direct deposit, one company is paid through Franks personal account and issued as a paper check twice a week, one comapny may utilize a third party agency for payment and all methods can change for all companies at any time), very weak management. Very unethical conduct is tolerated on a regular basis. There are no benefits and the clients that you obtain are not really yours. even though your own time and money is spent to acquire them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop allowing unethical conduct, clamp down on indecent relationships between married managers and agents, solidify a payment structure that does not change daily, and form some structure in the office. BE HONEST WITH AGENTS!

    Pros

Good, solid products. Good management, well-rated. They have a good mix of products - sr. life, long-term care, annuities - that have very good features and benefits. Especially with the senior market, they do act in a very ethical and humane way, so you can feel really good about the job that you are doing. Senior management seems to be on the ball, as well as the local management here in CA. They do a good job laying out the opportunity, especially for new agents, and the training and support is top notch. Overall, a very good place to gain experience in the insurance field, especially for newbies.

    Cons

People here on the west coast have rarely heard of them, so it's a bit harder to sell than other leading insurance brands. They are not very up-to-date on the latest technologies, so it often feels a bit outdated when you are on appointments in the home and have to use a calculator and sort through reams of paper to figure out premiums and such. A better website for the senior products would be a huge help as well. They seem to feel that seniors don't use the web, but here in CA they do! Many times they will have tried to look us up before we show up...and are always disappointed by the lack of info that they find.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote GA more here on west coast...more sales will follow.

    Pros

The benefits are great. We are of course an insurance company so you would that they are great. The people are wonderful and you get to meet them on and off the job. The company is moving up and we recently merged causing plenty of opportunities. If you are hourly, there is a chance for overtime. If you are salary then they won't work you to death. There is chance for advancement, but you need to be a people person and know everyone. This is a great company to learn about the insurance industry. Look out for positions with our company.

    Cons

It's a complicated industry. You really have to learn every aspect of the industry in order to progress in the company. All business units need to be able to speak I.T. There are changes all of the time so you will need to follow them. The biggest downside is when you mess up everyone knows about it...from senior management to the bottom. Salaries could be better compared to the industry. The benefits are good, but there are some things where I would like to see a monetary value rather than some of the benefits we receive. Other than that it is good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Notice some of the lower tier employees.
