The owners aren't hairdressers and have unrealistic expectations. They have also have tons of useless and stupid rules.

I have been working at Great Clips full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I was allowed to have a flexible schedule

    Cons

The company is all about making money. You literally have to do each customer in 13-18 minutes counting drying they're hair and also finding out what they want. Very unrealistic

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have some though for your employees

I have been working at Great Clips

    Pros

Hourly pay, constant walkins, plenty of product to try

    Cons

Times shouldn't be involved on a great haircut, need to pay more hourly. Bad area.. Not very busy.

    Pros

You don't have to worry about appointments. It is mostly all walk in or check in online. A good place to work if you like doing haircuts

    Cons

The tend to hire anyone, they do not do a drug test or anything like that. To a point that would be a good thing bc you can really get some people that drive away clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As a lead position that I am in I believe that we should also get bonus like the manger. We do a lot work for nothing extra.

I have been working at Great Clips

    Pros

Always go home with cash in your pockets. Education to keep you growing. Advancement opportunities. Bottom line party with a opportunity to make productivity/commission.

    Cons

Hard to take Holliday vacations. Hard to have a home/work compromise when working many days in a row then split days off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay positive and make work enjoyable.

    It's all about the money.

    I worked at Great Clips

    Pros

All of the training prior to being on the salon floor is paid (week long training.)

    Cons

This would probably be a fantastic place to work....if they were not so money hungry. I was told by management to get the customer in and out of my chair within ten minutes. It didn't matter what cut was being done, they wanted it done quickly, they stated if the customer doesn't like it they will come back to get it fixed. The women I worked with were not very friendly to me or the customers, they would rush through the cut to make their quota so they would get paid more.

I have been working at Great Clips part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work atmosphere, Management, rewarded for hard work. Owner's amount of involvement is just right. You know they exist, but they don't micromanage you.

    Cons

Not much room for growth unless you want to move up to management.

I worked at Great Clips full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fast cash, usually pretty busy, full or part time,

    Cons

13-18 min haircuts says enough you cant do proper haircut and see how it will lay unless you do finishing work which is an extra $25 and up. The clients that go there go because its cheap. The clients are rude. The management is a joke. The owners only care that they are making money. Getting a raise, vacation, or time off is hard. And moving up inthe company is hard too

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop taking every coupon under the sun! Your making your stylist lives hell and your screwing the company out of money too.
