I have been working at Great Dane full-time

    Pros

As the title suggests, this company has a decently low stress work environment if you know how to not "bring work issues home". You can expect to use Catia as a main 3d modeling program which is kept up to date.

    Cons

It is very difficult to get a straight answer form the management in this company. The office culture in Brazil Indiana is what you would expect of a small town in America but not reflective of a company that clears hundreds of millions of dollars a year. At Great Dane Brazil Indiana "The rules are made up and the points don't matter". They speak of yearly performance based raises during interviews, all I've seen is a flat medial raise across the board, which can be disheartening.

I worked at Great Dane full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    I can't think of any.

    Cons

Hot work environment, rude team leaders, expect you to do the work of two people, no quality control. LOW WAGES!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The supervisors and team leaders actually need to have leadership quality's. There needs to be more quality control, and for being a multi-million dollar company you would think they could pay there welders at least $15.00 an hour.

I worked at Great Dane full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pros: Good coworkers for the most part; good resume-building experience; great vendors; opportunities to travel.

    Cons

Cons: Difficult work environment within the department; too much drama created by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the 'revolving door' in the company and actually do something about it. It's possible to have a 'career' in any department but one. That's such common knowledge people even joke about it. Vendors realize it. What will it take for the leadership to?

    Pros

    Nice office and great location.

    Cons

    Unorganized and lack of communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to each other about the role that you are hiring for before interviewing a candidate. Every person described the position differently.

    Pros

    Good Benefits and working hours.

    Cons

VP's that know LESS than their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Great Dane

    Pros

Good people work there, very friendly.

    Cons

Incompetent management, won't adapt to 2011 business methods, stuck in the 1950's.
Still doing business over a beer & a church meeting, not in a professional setting.
    Zero commitment to new technology
Company run by a combination of "good ole boys" & northeast ethnic groups.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at a calendar! It's 2011! Adapt or become the largest division of Utility trailers.
