I worked at Great Eastern Life Assurance as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

It has a warm, family like, cosy environment where everyone wants to see each other succeed in this industry.

    Cons

Requires alot of self-disicpline as there are no fixed rules with regards to working hours and etc as long as one is able to bring in the clients. Must be able to handle rejection well as not all clients would be agreeable to the products that you offer.

I have been working at Great Eastern Life Assurance

    Pros

Very systematic, you can learn a lot of stuff working here, the correct way to do things, etc

    Cons

Impossible deadlines combined with very limited manpower budget makes you have to work overtime all the time, even work on Saturdays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know we are all expendables. But please give a little more respect to your staffs.

I worked at Great Eastern Life Assurance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People are super nice. Able to foster good relationship. Provide a lot of staff benefits and lunch talks.

    Cons

Always need to work beyond your job scope to provide for your real job purpose. No work life balance. Management not listening to staff. Under-appreciated by management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please do some self-reflection. We exist in the company for real reasons.

I worked at Great Eastern Life Assurance

    Pros

    A potential to multiply income

    Cons

Depending on the manager and agency you join. Advisors' clique can be very cruel to you if you don't do well / don't show results. Some managers, or directors are extremely harsh and heartless to those who takes longer for sales to come in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

please be a little more sentimental towards the new recruits, too extreme in hitting sales is probably why there's such a high turnover rate.
