Pros – This is a wholly owned subsidiary a Fortune Best Company To Work For. They'll treat you well while your working for them. Excellent benefits, bi-annual compensation reviews. Lots of room to grow and move within the company and they also provide an abundance of free training and education.
Cons – They won't hesitate to terminate you from payroll as soon as its economically expedient. They find creative and deceptive ways to claw back most of the stock grants and 401k match provided. The company is actively looking to market itself under the name Thunder (TOS) to another oilfield service company in order to unlock value for Chesapeake. Could spell bad news for GPOR employees, but good for CHK share holders.
Advice to Senior Management – Pick better Presidents for your subsidiary companies.
