I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts full-time

    Pros

    Free water park passes
    Discounted room rate

    Cons

Full time people are only guaranteed 32 hours, and its extremely hard to be considered for full time. Part time is a joke if your older than 18. Great Wolf does not pay well at all considering they are a resort that has rooms going for as much as $400/night! They expect you to work like a slave for 400+ rooms for little of nothing. They can't afford a full staff for the night time at times its 3 people responsible for the whole resort. They can't afford their own house keeping staff. They hire third party cleaners who do not care two craps whether a room is clean or not. No security during the day time so not at all as safe as you think! Too busy trying to open up as many resort as they can and not paying attention to employees and guests. The quality is quickly declining. Morals are suffering!

You can work at a high end hotel like Aloft or even the Marriott and make 30 percent more and deal with less problems. The only people who might like their jobs are Directors and maybe a few Managers. You have to work years for little money to be promoted.

I worked at Great Wolf Resorts part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I interned here for about a year and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. All upper management is very approachable and willing to help or answer questions. You get discounts for friends and family at their resorts and after a few months i got an insurance card which subsidized certain medications.

    Cons

I honestly cannot think of a single con that i encountered while working at Great Wolf.

I enjoy working with the other lifeguards in a positive and friendly environment. The water park is a fun place to work.

I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The culture of the Lodge is friendly. My fellow life guards are very happy and energetic. The supervisors are very helpful and kind. it is easy to get time off.

    Cons

The wages are only $8/hour. The guests can be somewhat annoying or bossy at times. It is a rather large company so the management is not involved in every operation.

I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

One of the best things is the people. It's very hard to find a place where you can get along with a majority of the people. Somehow Great Wolf has weeded out the riff raff and managed to keep a pretty stellar staff.

    Cons

Moving up has been an issue. Opportunities were presented then retracted without any real reason. Still not sure about some of these issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think it should go without saying that any management team needs to open their ears and keep the good employees happy. Stop looking at numbers and dollar signs for a minute because if your employees aren't happy your customers won't be either.

    Pros

Resort environment gives it a better experience than any other hotel. Learn CPR skills and teamwork skills. Can make you a great leader and make you more attentive. Mostly flexible when they can be.

    Cons

moving up is slow, not really too much recognition for good work and perseverance. It feels as if you are just a number and you are not a valued employee sometimes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A sum of the Aquatics management at current location in Scotrun, PA needs to show their workers a little more recognition. More consistency is needed and some.

I worked at Great Wolf Resorts full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun, work with kids, hospitality, usually easy to get a job there.

    Cons

The managers are inept and have atrocious people skills, disrespect employees on a daily basis, hire nothing but high school students who don't take their job seriously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually care about your employees. The customer is not always right. Pay your employees what they're worth.

I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

--- There is possibility to move up if all the right people like you
    --- Free Water-park passes
    --- Flexible schedules
    ---

    Cons

Great Wolf Lodge makes millions annually, but can not afford its employees somehow. Labor cost is always a issue even for full-time employees.

Great Wolf Lodge is too selfish to increase the quality of there rooms. The Beds are terrible, the sofa sleeper are worst. They seem like they do not care about their guests comfort.

Always running out to things or never have enough to begin with.

Not as many ups as there are downs

I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts

    Pros

Decent pay if you don't have a degree or are still in school. Flexible with schedules. Most employees are very nice and friendly. Good security, feel very safe in the workplace. Overtime allowed during busy seasons.

    Cons

Oh boy where to start. Water park passes are only good when it's slow (no weekends, holidays, etc.). Management will lie straight to your face just to get you to stop bothering them. ZERO communication! Most guests are dissatisfied with everything in the hotel and they will speak their mind in a not so pleasant manner. Guests also have no trouble at all leaving a zero dollar tip. Training is a joke, they will put you somewhere and tell you to "figure it out". Management definitely plays favorites and are not too keen on promoting the right people. They also treat their veterans like garbage. If you have any ideas on how to improve the company, you may as well just keep it to yourself. If you are a server/bartender there is no such thing as taking a break. It's only busy 3 times a year, the holidays, spring break, and summer. If you depend on tips while working the off seasons it's next to impossible to make any money. Work lots of weekends and pretty much all holidays. Lastly, if you do a good job you wont get any recognition. If you get any complaints you get recognition all right, usually in a written form that you have to sign.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest and communicate with your employees. Have meetings or create an employee forum or something! Need to train employees better. Offer more employee benefits or a better recognition program. .
