    Pros

Friendly workers. Everyone is very easy to talk to and will share their experiences readily and tell about the industry. Plus, radio is a pretty cool thing to be doing.

    Cons

Aging industry, aging processes. Not the place to think creatively and some of the old DJs think it's still the 80s. But that could've been unique to the branch I was working at.

    Pros

Good radio stations and lots of sales opportunities. Using the Creative consultant they use is their best asset. CEO is non-existent for a small "family" company but he seems to want provide a winning atmosphere.

    Cons

Market leader talks a good game but never acts on anything. Steps aren't taken to correct internal issues. Same problems with employees and systems go on with no resolve. The threat of layoffs hovers over as bad managers get to run rough shot around the building. They want to be great but fall short.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a plan and execute it.

    Pros

Great-sounding, well-programmed radio stations that the community and listeners enjoy and/or are passionate about. Lots of solid on-air history.

    Cons

Leadership is scattered and not nearly as focused as it should be. Having BEEN a LSM, GSM, and AGM, I was unimpressed with how things (in New Brunswick, NJ) were run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Utilize your talent pool better. Get that sales team working AS a TEAM . . . not as a group of "sub-contractor sellers."

    Pros

Developed great relationships, learned A LOT, because if you can survive here, you can survive anywhere, talented employees

    Cons

Favoritsm, Over-worked and underpaid, Negative environment (a lot of poor attitudes depending on which department you are in) and constant cristicism, rarely to never positive, revolving door --constantly people leaving/coming, changing positions, job description/duties constantly changing from what originally promised, seem to be a little "crooked" for lack of a better word

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more honest with yourselves and your employees. Respect and value your employees; without them, you are nothing. Do not show favoritsm, because it is more than evident. More POSITIVE, constructive criticism.

    Pros

A broadcast company that still cares about their employees and don’t treat you like a number. It’s still ran like a business but they really do care.

    Cons

Unfortunately this is still a business and in the bad economy so there is some downsizing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More training in all departments.

    Pros

The people and atmosphere are great. The company is private so there don't seem to be as many outside influences as there would be if it were public. The future direction of the company appears to be pretty solid.

    Cons

As with most companies the benefits have declined over the past few years. Salaries tend to be well below industry standard in some departments.

    Pros

If you are in the technical field, it's an interesting company to work at at the start of your career. There are many interesting projects, and the environment is fast paced. Most of the people are wonderful to work with.

    Cons

Inter-branch communication on vital technical issues, is non-existent for the rank and reserved for upper management only. Instead of working together with various locales of the company for solving technical issues quickly and working together towards the common goal of supporting the company, the technical offices are very fragmented, to the point of issues with communications between departments in the same building, which is fatal to work in the technical field. Technological progress is so slow as to be nearly non-existent, which can lead to skill stagnation. After layoffs, Management unwilling to make vital adjustments to the support structure. Extremely unpredictable layoffs, certain departments love the pre-Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas firings. Unexpected layoffs after upper management promises that no such layoffs are coming. Departmental budgets often bloated for manager gain. Promotion is heavily based on personal favors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve interdepartmental communication, and improve communication with employees. Look into allegations of corruption amongst the middle management, and stop promoting people based on favors owed or done.
