    Steady, repetitive work.

    Operator (Current Employee) Kalamazoo, MI

ProsThe work is easy, no skills needed really. If you can stand, bend, lift 25 lbs, and do basic math you will succeed here. Pay is better than most box shops.

ConsRepetitive work that is not very stimulating. Weak senior management leadership is evident by the lack of communication, poor middle management integrity, and a culture of punishing those that take the initiative to solve problems.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncreasing the transparency

Long term employment and is nice place to work. Good hourly compensation, supervisors generally helpful.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Green Bay, WI

ProsGreat place to work for anyone who needs to earn a solid hourly rate. Can work up through levels and get certified for many jobs in plant if you want. This takes time as it is a seniority based system of promotion.

ConsCan be stressful when busy, deadlines can be short, must pay attention to detail and not make errors. Write ups/disciplinary actions are common for minor infractions or mistakes made. Rework is common when others do not follow job requirements.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet workers do there jobs. When something fails, let it go and move on. Listen to employees who have ideas on how to make jobs faster and easier and implement changes. Get rid of employees who fail to keep up with technology or requirements of their jobs no matter how long they have been there. Mr. Kress could make a visit to see how the place is doing once in awhile.

Great place to work, solid, stable environment. Not micro-managed

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Green Bay, WI

ProsVery solid business plan, privately held, still run by the same family that founded the company in the 30's. People are treated well.

ConsBecause it's a stable environment, advancement takes longer. It's a trade off between advancement opportunities abd stability. If the company had 20% turnover, advancement would be easier. But 20% turnover means that in 5 years, you're gone too.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work!

    Big Mistake

Staff Position (Former Employee) Winchester, VA

    ProsThe money was very good.

ConsJob dissatisfaction was very high. Physical intimidation was the standard method of managing. This is not a place I would recommend to anyone and I especially would not want a family member to work there. Especially not a female friend or relative.

Advice to Senior ManagementLocal management is out of control. There is a need for serious psychological counseling. Changes were made in day-to-day requests, which were 180 degrees different. A bit of God complex. Senior management need to take a serious look at what is going on and stop the hands off approach.

Positive and place of opportunity and growth

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe management and staff is understanding willing to help everyone grow. The company was more like a family than a harsh work environment. Everyone was positive and helpful, it has been a manicured company for many years

ConsEach division is small so it can be difficult to change positions, as they do not open up that often.

    Supervisor (Current Employee)

ProsSteady work and overtime if you want it which is quite a change since supervisors are paid a monthly salary

Consif you are taking a job with green bay packaging they do not count your time in the industry towards yor vacation time

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to the pension plan you discontinued get rid of the bean counters because they are ruining employee relations
