Pros – I appreciate the transparency of the company. I never feel like there is a hidden agenda or secrets being kept that will impact employees. I trust that the Senior Management team has the employees’ best interests at heart and they live our code of conduct. I have never worked somewhere that the CEO takes every new employee out to lunch to welcome them to the organization. Also, we have a lot of fun! Cook offs, mini golf championship, costume contests, monthly employee recognition, community volunteer activities, etc. There is never a dull moment! I love my co-workers, environment and being part of a company that is working on programs that no one else has ever completed.
Cons – There really aren’t many cons. Currently the company doesn’t offer telecommuting and that would be a nice option at times.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to be visible. It would be nice to see the executives more often on the floors visiting with employees.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – Working Environment. This is a very collaborative environment. I work in Engineering and never feel micro-managed. In fact, I look for my manager about as much as he looks for me. The management here at Greenpoint is a Technical management. I think that accounts for the ratio. Although my boss is the department manager, he also collaborates on design, modelling issues, materials, as well as scheduling.
I think this team environment working model fits the product very well.
Greenpoint is an excellent facility. Engineering uses all of the latest tools and equipement.
Greenpoint is fun and active. Our department manager goes to the same gym that I go to. If I don't show up he 'micro manages' me, and asks where I've been. I love it! We work hard and play hard.
I'm a contractor. I've contracted at many of the Aerospace companies in North America. Greenpoint is second to none. I've been treated very well. I 've seen the us v. them mentality at other companies. It is not here.
Of course the location is great. I moved a half mile from the facility and walk to work everyday. It's scenic, and safe.
Cons – I don't know if it's a con, but growth is an issue. I think it's a good problem. We are busy.
Some standards are being fine tuned. I think this is true of any company this size.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to innovate, to try and to seek new ideas and where they come from. Also take advantage of industry standards where they apply.
Please don't change the working environment. I look forward to coming to work everyday, and I know others do as well. Keep encouraging the team spirit.

Pros – Great group of people to work with, great location, medical/dental benefits are hard to beat, a lot of opportunity for growth if you want to work hard for it, work hard - play hard environment that makes coming to work easy, again I really enjoy the people that I am surrounded by here and can't remember ever being at a company that I truly enjoyed the way I do with Greenpoint.
Cons – Lack of positive communication in some areas but it's always being worked on so I can't really call that a con. Every company has its areas that needs work but everyone is aware of that and seems to make a conscious effort to include everyone in the ever-changing and growing environment that we are in.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate with your team members and lead by example. Keep up the great work!!

Former Employee – worked at Greenpoint Technologies full-time for more than a year
Pros – Very much a work "family" and if you fit the corportate culture you will thrive at Greenpoint. They work on high profile projects; which is exciting!
Cons – If you don't fit their corprotate culture, you'll not be given opportunities and will not enjoy your time there. Also, as an aerospace company, their workforce ebbs and flows as contracts are granted.
Advice to Senior Management – Nurture mentorship and 360 evaluations of your managers.

Pros – Great location on the water and upper floors of building making for some nice views over the lake if you are lucky enough to be located on that side of the office, the general workers and some of the management are very nice and personable.
Cons – Completely and utterly top heavy with management. One engineer did a study of this issue a few years back and found a ratio of 10 workers per manager. As of updating this study as of late last year, that ratio was at: 1.46:1. Yes, that's an average of 1.5 workers for every manager or lead in the place. This is just getting worse as they continue to promote and create new management positions. The other issue that kills this place is the micro-management. Greenpoint is a case study in the matter. So much so, it is preventing people from being productive. Consider the fact that of the current projects they have going, none are running at or below budget (128%, 131% & 135% over budget). Most of this as you can guess is due mainly to the overhead costs of all the management and the loss of actual productive time workers must devote to micro-managing tasks requested of them. They also do not treat contractors as well as direct employees, granted, this is a typical thing at some companies, but at Greenpoint there are a couple of contractors that have to "report" in the moment they start their workday and "report" out in order to leave. None of these contractors are habitually late not do they leave early. It's been the case from the moment they started. One last key note you may need to be aware of is the fact that in the first two months of 2012, 7, yes SEVEN people just in the engineering department quit. Some were managers and leads, some were in senior positions. They left mainly due to the issues I've stated.
Advice to Senior Management – Your engineering department is a mess. Workers are generally afraid to speak out due to the threat of being out of work in the current economy. They also have been so defeated when they did make suggestions that they've given up and are waiting for a better opportunity to arise. They will go to your competitors as soon as the option comes up. Greenpoint is way too top heavy, plain and simple.

Pros – There is a very diverse group of people working here with experience in all areas. As the company grows we are getting more and more exciting projects and career growth and learning opportunities are in abundance. This is one of the rare companies that give you the time it takes to get the job done right the first time.
Cons – There is very little to complain about here, I guess the only think that comes to mind is that we are a little behind the times in the CAD tools and PDM systems, but rapidly coming up to date.
Advice to Senior Management – Be careful not to hire too many entry level guys. One of the things that makes this place great is the collective competence and experience of the team.

Pros – - Boeing VIP completions!
- great health care
- proactive about hiring, authorizing OT, raises and promotions
- they encourage productive critism of existing systems
- active as a community outside the work environment
- light hearted and fun work atmosphere
- open and honest about business stategy and status
- approchable upper management and executives
- they value their employees and it shows
- they are constantly striving to make it a better place to work
- they strive to avoid overworking us / burning us out
- the actual work is very interesting / challenging (uniqe opportunities)
- the people are great
- top of the line equipment from computers and software to chairs and stationary
- gorgeous location and facilities with water views, high ceilings, lots of natural light
- currently implementing changes to correct some known communication challenges
Cons – - There are a handfull of family members and close friends of the family as you would expect to find in any privately owned smallish company. In my experience, they are all good at the jobs. But admittedly it makes me question long term opportunities for advancement. That being said, the majority of VP's, and the president himself are not family of the owner.
- They are structured to be a larger company but still don't have that many lower level employees. This results in more than average meetings and conversations with managers coupled with some less than effecient processes. However they are actively seeking solutions to these known issues.
Advice to Senior Management – If you have the skill sets internally, promote from within. Make sure that personal ties aren't part of that equation.

Pros – The people are very talented and fun to work with and the leaders have an open door policy. The company is not very large so there is an opportunity to get to know everyone in the organization. The company core values are Fun, Integrity, Teamwork, Creativity, Customer Focus, and Community Service.
Cons – Honestly, I have worked for Greenpoint for a year now and I have a very hard time finding something that I don't like about it.
Advice to Senior Management – My advice to the leaders of this company are to continue to empower the employees to work hard and play hard, and to continue to live the Greenpoint Core Competencies: Adaptability, Communications, Dependability, Initiative, Teamwork and Work Quality.
