Revolving door for Client Associates because of no $$$

    Client Associate (Current Employee)
    Stamford, CT

ProsVery young office, and extremely good access to senior management. I was able to talk to the CEO on my second day at work.

ConsThe pay is NOT competitive at all. As soon as anyone has been at GA long enough to know what's going on they leave for business school so that they can make more money.

Advice to Senior ManagementRaise pay for everyone, people need to be enticed to continue working at Greenwich Associates. And stop charging for everything. Having bagels for people and charging $1 each DESTROYS morale, it seems like GA is making a profit on this transaction.

    solid place to work

    Client Associate (Current Employee)
    Stamford, CT

ProsGA can provide a a stimulating and challenging work environemt but depends largely on the dynamics of your group. The people are generally talented and enjoyable to work along side.

ConsCompensation is poor for some roles and morale is awful at times. Employees work longer hours due to mismanagement of technology platform.

Advice to Senior ManagementGA as a firm needs to set realistic expectations and communicate better on important issues that affect every employee. HR needs to step up.

Greenwich Associates - opportunity exists, but action needed to capitalize

    Associate (Current Employee)
    Stamford, CT

ProsBenefits, work life balance, dynamic industry, intellectually stimulating

ConsChallenging environment, increased competition, partnership structure negates what should be our biggest advantage - flexibility

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand that our world is drastically different than the environment that the firm grew up in. We need to change with it.

    Competitive Financial Services Consultancy

    Senior Research Associate (Former Employee)
    Greenwich, CT

ProsExposure to senior MDs and the client services process. Client meetings often take place at senior levels within organizations, and young Research Associates (analysts) can often be invited after only being with the company a short time. The team oriented nature of the groups makes demanding work and hours at the office a bit more bearable. MDs can occassionally be quite appreciative of the work put in by team members, and will often take the time to help younger members fully understand the consulting process.

ConsLong hours, demanding client base, re-work on deliverables, out-dated technology.

    Advice to Senior ManagementNone.

Compensation -- below market, not adjusted for inflation

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Stamford, CT

ProsIndustry exposure and the opportunity to meet with high-profile clients. Middle-management is actually not so bad.

ConsCompensation is very, very poor and not adjusted for inflation. There is no overtime and the hours are very bad. We've lost a number of good people due to work environment and salary issues.

Some consultants lead by example: they are hard-working and acknowledge a job well done. This makes it worthwhile.

Advice to Senior ManagementMUST adjust the salary scheme in place.

Small entrepreneurial company with strong client franchise among financial institutions.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsSmall company, very robust business model despite some challenges.

ConsVery US centric management - no international experience and as a result not particularly good at managing business internationally. 90% of staff in the US even if US share of business is much smaller. Very frustrating at times for staff working outside the US

My experience at Greenwich Associates has been good so far but no room for growth

    Market Research Interviewer (Current Employee)
    Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsManagement is friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The people that work there are also good. Flexible hours and shifts. The work is very easy and no targets.

ConsLittle or no room for growth. The pay is not as good as other companies that do the same thing. No steady income become shifts are cancelled regularly. The job itself is very mind numbing and it gets very monotonous.
