    Pros

It was a very clean and organized hospital. The volunteer services were well structured and required an interview and background check.

    Cons

Depending on what area of volunteering you were placed into, days could be rather uneventful and repetitive.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to not have too many volunteers working at one time as the newer volunteers are unable to contribute much work.

    Pros

Immediate co-workers very friendly and helpful. Good team environment.

    Cons

Middle management can sometimes play politics to get what they want, including setting people up to fail so they can get funding redirected.

    Advice to Management

Play fair and don't use your staff in this way.

    Pros

Benefits are good, company values customer service excellence, employees are friendly.

    Cons

Yale took over administration and has ruined the sense of community the Hospital used to have. A Corporate feel with cutthroat tactics that put earnings and saving expenses over patient satisfaction, employee treatment and loyalty and an overall micromanagement feel.

    Advice to Management

Greenwich Hospital used to be one of the best places to work at and this has terribly changed since Yale has slowly assimilated administration. There is no sense of community anymore and it resonates through patient service and employee treatment.

    Pros

Greenwich Hospital is a great place to work, you have great opportunities to learn. However, i feel the opportunities are only for the few and the only.

    Cons

Scheduling is somehow fair, other benefits are good. However, I find that Managers ( RN's ) take a lot of advantage of their role and the rest of the support staff are ignored.

    Advice to Management

They should realized that everything they do and say "gets around". gossip is not a new thing and usually all they say and do is right in the open. I would suggest they try to keep their personal opinion to themselves and they should worry more about their staff and how they can help their staff succeed and advance in their career. Its hard not to form friends at work, but they should consider other people outside their group of friends for advancement.

    Pros

some mature co-workers, loved the environment and salary was great. I enjoyed my time there during the night shift and some mornings.

    Cons

Managers/ Supervisors need to be watched more closely because I was shocked from the perverted and outrageous comments said! In addition, co-workers that have been there longer than any one were extremely rude, and made me feel very hostile! If this hospital was not more about looks, they should focus on employees performance and behavior instead of punishing those who were being "abused". I feel its a wonderful Hospital but some people need to be re-evualted since they do use too much HIPPA talk which is against peoples privacy!

    Advice to Management

Hire young or computer savvy people, instead of keeping people who continue to cause problems towards every one. HINT management needs to be changed quick since some managers are chit chatting they are ready to move to a new position at new hospital! that shows how much they care for there employees. wake up!

    Pros

They provide a friendly work environment, with an interest in being fair to employees.

    Cons

Some supervisors that have been there for years are very difficult to work for, and the hospital chooses to keep these managers there and not discipline them, or remove them.
