I worked at Greenwich Hospital as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the hours were reasonable, it had a good working environment, and the onsite choices for meals were a godsend!

    Cons

The management could be better. As of the time I was employed I believe they had gone through staffing changes and the new management had not settled in yet, though I expect has improved by now.

I worked at Greenwich Hospital part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Greenwich Hospital is a great place to work, you have great opportunities to learn. However, i feel the opportunities are only for the few and the only.

    Cons

Scheduling is somehow fair, other benefits are good. However, I find that Managers ( RN's ) take a lot of advantage of their role and the rest of the support staff are ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should realized that everything they do and say "gets around". gossip is not a new thing and usually all they say and do is right in the open. I would suggest they try to keep their personal opinion to themselves and they should worry more about their staff and how they can help their staff succeed and advance in their career. Its hard not to form friends at work, but they should consider other people outside their group of friends for advancement.

I worked at Greenwich Hospital part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

some mature co-workers, loved the environment and salary was great. I enjoyed my time there during the night shift and some mornings.

    Cons

Managers/ Supervisors need to be watched more closely because I was shocked from the perverted and outrageous comments said! In addition, co-workers that have been there longer than any one were extremely rude, and made me feel very hostile! If this hospital was not more about looks, they should focus on employees performance and behavior instead of punishing those who were being "abused". I feel its a wonderful Hospital but some people need to be re-evualted since they do use too much HIPPA talk which is against peoples privacy!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire young or computer savvy people, instead of keeping people who continue to cause problems towards every one. HINT management needs to be changed quick since some managers are chit chatting they are ready to move to a new position at new hospital! that shows how much they care for there employees. wake up!

    I worked at Greenwich Hospital

    Pros

They provide a friendly work environment, with an interest in being fair to employees.

    Cons

Some supervisors that have been there for years are very difficult to work for, and the hospital chooses to keep these managers there and not discipline them, or remove them.

Greenwich Hospital, Excellence in Service..not so excellent to employees.

Current Employee - Clerk in Greenwich, CT
Current Employee - Clerk in Greenwich, CT

I have been working at Greenwich Hospital

    Pros

    Great benefits.
Flexibe hours (dependent on department leader).
    Safe environment.

    Cons

Highly patronizing to employees to divert from issues and concerns.
Practice of hiring under qualified personnel (non-medical and technical excluded) in order to keep salaries down.
    Popularity contest; brownnosing is accepted.
Social hierarchy is present and felt.
Multiple frivolous activities that cater to a pampered community and decision making staff.
Clerical staff is often overlooked and their input discarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let's concentrate on working and give everyone an equal opportunity. Often many transgressions are overlooked from individuals that are highly popular due to their social networking. This creates annimocity from the rest of the staff.
Do away with the Quality Awards, more often than not it is the same individuals who a) Are part of the "popular" network or b) Have constant patient contact and therefore plenty of chances to impress in comparisson.
